Volvo Ce Showcases Sustainability-Led Equipment Lineup at Excon 2025

The push for cleaner, smarter, and more productive machines took centre stage at EXCON 2025 as Volvo Construction Equipment presented one of the most future-ready lineups at the show. The showcase highlighted the brand’s commitment to India’s future infrastructure and continued its commitment to developing sustainable solutions that will have a lower cost on operations and a lower impact on the environment.

At this year’s EXCON, Volvo CE gained the attention of many with the variety of advanced equipment, India-specific, and electric equipment that they displayed. The theme for Volvo CE this year, “Bharosa Har Mod Par,” is to demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing the highest level of trust, efficiency, and reliability for each product and every application they offer. The new EC215 Excavator was one of the featured machines at this exhibition. This machine has been built specifically for India, using input from contractors working within the road construction, earthwork, real estate, and industrial equipment industries. This machine falls within a weight range of 20 to 22 tonne class. According to Volvo CE, this machine will provide its customers with a higher level of productivity while providing the most fuel-efficient machine in this equipment class. The improvements in this machine include electronic controls, hydraulics, and improved digging power. Additionally, the EC215 is being manufactured in India and is helping to meet the increasing demand for locally manufactured construction machines by the construction industry in India.

Volvo CE also presented the SD110 compactor for compacting asphalt and other bases used in road construction projects. This machine has a unique design allowing it to perform repeatedly under long periods of service without sacrificing performance. This machine offers great soil compaction and is ideal for road contractors whose requirements are more output, simple controls, and durability.

Another key exhibit at this year’s tradeshow was the introduction of the Volvo L120 Electric Wheel Loader. This loader highlights the company’s ongoing focus on the development of environmentally friendly machines and machines with zero emissions. While an electric loader provides a cleaner alternative than a diesel-powered loader, it has the same level of power needed to operate within the areas of material handling, the operation of transfer stations, and in municipal applications. As India is progressing towards sustainable equipment, this product from Volvo will surely draw the attention of the contractors, government bodies, ports, and urban infrastructure developers.

The Volvo EC650 Excavator is also displayed for the first time before its commercial release and will be developed for high-volume operations associated with bulk excavation, as well as the operations of a mine. The EC650 will be capable of generating a significant breakout force while achieving rapid cycle times. Its presence further indicates the increasing demand for machinery that is capable of supporting large mining operations and heavy earthmoving operations.

Another major highlight was Volvo CE’s strong technology ecosystem. The company demonstrated digital tools for fleet management, remote monitoring, and service planning. These digital solutions help contractors reduce downtime, improve fuel management, and plan maintenance with greater accuracy. Discussions with Volvo CE representatives indicated that more connected machines will enter the Indian market in the coming years.

Volvo CE also shared updates on its upcoming Technology Centre in Bengaluru. This facility will focus on product development and research for the Indian market, along with global engineering support. The investment reflects the brand’s long-term commitment to India’s construction ecosystem.

With this wide range of machines and technology solutions, Volvo CE reinforced its position as a trusted and forward-looking player at EXCON 2025. The brand’s strong focus on sustainability and India-specific engineering signals a shift toward cleaner and smarter construction equipment across the country.
