This Jal Jeevan Mission package is a full water-supply chain rather than a single structure. It brings together water treatment plants, clear water reservoirs (CWRs) and clear water pump houses (CWPHs) near the WTPs, clear-water transmission mains from the plants through intermediate pumping stations, rising mains feeding various overhead reservoirs (ESRs), the ESRs themselves, and the in-village distribution network that delivers functional household tap connections. The contract runs on a percentage-rate basis with a long lead time before close.

Who’s it pitched at

The size and the spread point to experienced water-infrastructure contractors and EPC firms. EMD sits at Rs 12.14 crore (exemption allowed), the tender fee is Rs 1.18 lakh, and the deadline gives almost three months to assemble a strong bid. With distribution lines reaching across villages, there is a long tail of trenching, pipe-laying and reservoir work that keeps hired plant busy.

Machines for the job

Trenching for transmission and distribution mains runs on hydraulic excavators and backhoe loaders, with dewatering pumps where the water table is high. Reservoir and pump-house construction calls for cranes, concrete mixers and vibrators, while tippers cart spoil and material between scattered village sites. Pipe handling for DI and HDPE lines, plus a boring rig for road and rail crossings, completes the picture.
