DesiMachines publishes news for the people who actually buy, finance and run construction equipment in India. This page explains who we are, how we report, and what to do when we get something wrong.
Who we are
DesiMachines.com is published by Desi Machines Pvt Ltd. Our news desk covers India’s construction-equipment, infrastructure, mining and equipment-finance sectors. Editorial responsibility for what appears on /news rests with Parinita Kedia, Director at Desi Machines Pvt Ltd and a Chartered Accountant, who has spent over a decade around India’s construction-equipment sector.
What we cover
We report developments that change something for an equipment buyer: order wins and capex that signal demand, plant expansions and capacity additions that affect supply and lead times, dealer-network moves that affect service, equipment launches available in India, state and national infrastructure approvals, mining-equipment orders, and finance or insurance schemes that change what a machine costs to own.
We are not a wire service and we do not try to cover everything. If a story tells an equipment buyer nothing they can act on, we leave it alone.
How we source and verify
Our standard is simple and we hold to it:
- Two independent sources. Every critical figure, date and value is checked against at least two independent sources before we publish. If we can only stand up a number from one source, we do not print the number.
- Real publication dates. We confirm when something actually happened, not when an aggregator re-ran it. Recycled announcements do not become news again.
- Company claims are labelled. Specifications, capacities and performance figures issued by a manufacturer are attributed as company-stated, not presented as independently tested fact.
- Sources are named. Where a report rests on another outlet’s work, we say so in the copy and link the source at the foot of the article.
How we use technology
We use automated research and drafting tools to scan the sector and prepare our reports. That speeds up the work; it does not lower the bar. Nothing is published because a headline exists somewhere — the two-source verification standard above applies to every article regardless of how it was drafted, and accountability for what runs on this site sits with our news desk, not with a tool.
Corrections
We will get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we want to know quickly.
If you spot an error — a wrong figure, a misattributed order, an outdated price — contact us and tell us what is wrong and, if you can, what the correct information is. We check it against the record. If we were wrong, we correct the article and note what changed and when. We do not quietly delete a story to make a mistake disappear.
Editorial independence
We sell and broker equipment, and we are open about that. It does not buy coverage. We do not publish sponsored posts, advertorials or PR copy as news, and no manufacturer, dealer or lender gets favourable reporting because of a commercial relationship with us. Where a story touches a brand we have a business interest in, the reporting standard does not change.
Prices and figures
Equipment prices in our reporting are indicative ranges, dated to when we published them. The Indian market moves on variant, state, dealer and financing terms — treat our figures as a starting point for a conversation, not a quotation.
