Machine weights are the operating weights the machine makers publish. Breaker models and the machines or weights they are made for are as JCB, Epiroc, Dozco and Tata Hitachi print them on their own websites, checked October 2026; a dash means not printed. The oil flow a breaker needs must match your machine's hydraulic line: the dealer checks it before quoting.

    What a rock breaker does

A rock breaker, also called a hydraulic hammer, fits where the bucket goes. The machine’s hydraulic oil drives a heavy piston against a steel tool, and the tool breaks rock, concrete and hard ground that a bucket cannot dig.

Two pairings are common on Indian sites: a breaker on a backhoe loader for road cutting, drains and building work, and a breaker on a 20-tonne excavator for quarries and hard foundations. Our guide to how a hydraulic breaker works explains the parts and the tools.

What decides the price of a breaker

Size. A breaker for a 30-tonne excavator is a far heavier tool than one for a backhoe loader.

Make and model. Makers differ in build, warranty and how close their service is to you.

What comes with it. The tool (chisel or moil point), the mounting bracket for your machine, and the hydraulic line kit if your machine does not have one. Ask what is included so that quotes compare like with like.

We do not print breaker prices. Ask for a quote for your machine and you compare real offers.

    Check these before you buy

    1. Your machine’s operating weight. It is on the model’s page on Desi Machines.
    2. Whether the machine has a hammer line fitted.
    3. That the bracket fits your machine’s arm or quick coupler.
    4. That the breaker’s oil flow and pressure match your machine. Both are on the maker’s sheet and your machine’s specifications.
    5. Where the nearest service and replacement tools are.

    Excavators people ask about most

The most asked-about models on DesiMachines. Each page has the full specifications.

    Questions people ask

Which breaker fits a JCB 3DX?

A breaker built for backhoe loaders, the 5 to 10 tonne class. JCB sells its own breakers for its backhoe loaders through JCB dealers, and several other makers on this page list backhoe versions. Tell us your model and we pass your request on.

What size breaker does a 20-tonne excavator need?

One whose maker lists your machine's weight inside the breaker's carrier range, the range of machine weights printed on the maker's sheet. Every maker here that publishes a range covers the 16 to 25 tonne class.

Does every excavator have the line for a breaker?

No. A breaker needs extra hydraulic piping along the arm, often called a hammer line. Some machines come with it and others need a kit. Say which you have when you ask.

Can I hire a breaker instead of buying one?

Yes. For short jobs many people hire a machine with a breaker already fitted. Our rent page explains how hiring works and takes hire requests.

Who will contact me after I ask?

A dealer of the breaker maker or of your machine's brand, near your district. We tell you on WhatsApp who has your request. Desi Machines does not sell breakers.

Desi Machines passes your request to authorised dealers and distributors. Price, stock, fitment and warranty come from them, not from us. Brand names are used only to identify the machines and parts they fit.
