Escorts Kubota sold 795 construction machines in September 2026, nearly double the 413 it sold in September 2025. Before reading that as a buying frenzy, look at two things: last September was a weak month for the whole trade, and these are factory dispatches to dealers, not machines already working on site. Both matter if you are pricing a backhoe loader or a pick-n-carry crane this festive season.
The quick facts
- Construction equipment: 795 machines in September 2026 against 413 a year earlier, up 92.5%.
- July to September (Q2 FY27): 1,764 machines against 1,146, up 53.9%.
- April to September (H1 FY27): 3,108 machines against 2,201, up 41.2%.
- The company’s construction range covers backhoe loaders, pick-n-carry cranes and compactors.
What Escorts Kubota reported
The company put out its September volumes on 1 October. NBM&CW and Autocar Professional both carried the construction line, with identical figures. The totals also tie to the monthly numbers on record: 534 machines in July and 435 in August, plus September’s 795, make the 1,764 quarter, and adding the 1,344 sold in April to June gives the 3,108 half-year. The company credited continued government spending on infrastructure and steady project execution across roads, railways, urban works and mining. It gave no domestic and export split for construction equipment.
Is a 92.5% jump a real demand boom?
Partly, but the base is flattering it. The dealer body FADA has already said that August 2025 was soft because buyers held off for the GST 2.0 rate cut, and that cut only took effect in late September 2025. So much of last September sat in the same waiting period. Our take: the half-year figure of 41.2% is the more honest measure, and it is still strong.
It is also well ahead of the market. ICRA expects industry volumes to grow only 8 to 10% in FY27, as we reported from its sector outlook. A maker growing four times faster than that is taking share, and FADA’s August registrations showed the same thing, with Escorts Kubota adding about two-thirds to its construction volume while the market leader lost ground.
Then there is the gap between a dispatch and a sale. In July the company reported 534 machines, while FADA’s registration data credited it with 462. The two count different things, but the difference is roughly what sits on dealer yards. A 795-unit September, just ahead of Navratri and Diwali, looks like dealers stocking up for the season.
What should a buyer do with this?
Stock on the yard is useful to you. A dealer carrying more Escorts Kubota backhoe loaders or compactors than usual has a reason to move them before the season closes, and that is when delivery dates and accessory packages get easier to negotiate. The list price is a different matter. The company said in August it was weighing another increase, so ask for a written quote with a validity date before you commit.
The longer view is capacity. At the H1 pace Escorts Kubota is running at roughly 6,200 construction machines a year, against a company-stated Phase 1 capacity of 15,000 units a year at its new Yamuna Expressway plant. Supply is being built well ahead of today’s sales.
What to watch
- FADA’s September retail print, due around 7 to 10 October: how many Escorts Kubota machines were actually registered against the 795 dispatched.
- Escorts Kubota’s Q2 FY27 results: whether margins and any new price increase follow the volume.
- The October dispatch number on 1 November, after the festive peak.
Buying this season? Compare models and dealer quotes before the festive stock clears, and line up machine finance early so you can close when the price is right.
FAQ
How many construction machines did Escorts Kubota sell in September 2026?
795 machines, against 413 in September 2025, a rise of 92.5%. For July to September the total was 1,764 machines.
Why is the September growth rate so high?
Part of it is a weak base. September 2025 fell in the period when buyers were waiting for the GST rate cut. The half-year growth of 41.2% gives a cleaner picture.
Are these retail sales?
No. Company monthly figures are dispatches to dealers. FADA’s monthly print, based on registrations, shows how many machines actually reached customers.
