Question 1 of 7

Which machine is the coupler for?

Type the model, for example JCB JS205 or Tata Hitachi EX 210.

    Mechanical or hydraulic

Makers sell two kinds. A mechanical coupler is locked by hand. JCB’s manual quickhitch has a spring-loaded lock that is released with a bar, hardened steel jaws and a lock pin you can see from the cab. A hydraulic coupler is worked from the cab. JCB’s hydraulic quickhitch changes an attachment without the operator leaving the seat, and has boom-position sensors and two independent locks.

Which one suits you depends on how often you change attachments. A machine that digs all day with one bucket may not need a hydraulic coupler. A machine that swaps between a bucket and a breaker many times a day usually does.

Quick coupler makers that sell in India

What each maker lists for couplers on its own website.

    • Caterpillar (Cat)Its India bucket page says a bucket can be used pin-on or with a Cat Pin Grabber Coupler.
    • JCBA manual quickhitch, locked by hand, and a hydraulic quickhitch that is operated from the cab and has two independent locks.
    • VolvoA factory-fitted quick coupler on its excavators, with buckets made to fit direct or through the coupler. It also shows Steelwrist tiltrotators.

Listed in alphabetical order, not a ranking. What each maker offers is taken from its own website, checked October 2026. A maker that is not listed may still sell here: ask us and we pass your request on.

Before you ask for a quote

    1. Your excavator’s model, and its weight if you know it. Couplers are chosen for the machine’s class.
    2. Which buckets and attachments you want to carry. Their pin spacing has to suit the coupler, so tell the dealer about every one.
    3. Mechanical or hydraulic. If you are not sure, say so and the dealer explains the two for your machine.
    4. Whether your machine’s hydraulic system can take a hydraulic coupler. The dealer checks this, and can fit the extra line if the maker offers one.

    Questions people ask

    What is a quick coupler?

A fitting on the end of the arm that lets the operator change a bucket or another attachment quickly, instead of knocking out the pins by hand.

What is the difference between a mechanical and a hydraulic coupler?

A mechanical coupler is locked by hand: JCB's manual quickhitch uses a spring-loaded lock released with a bar. A hydraulic coupler is worked from the cab, and JCB says its hydraulic quickhitch has boom-position sensors and two independent locks.

Will any coupler fit my excavator?

No. A coupler is chosen for the machine's class and for the buckets and attachments it will carry, because their pin spacing has to suit the coupler. Tell the dealer your model and what you want to fit.

Does Desi Machines sell quick couplers?

No. We pass your request to a dealer near you, who quotes and supplies the coupler. The service is free for buyers.

Who will contact me after I ask?

A dealer near your district: the dealer of your machine's brand, or the maker's distributor. We tell you on WhatsApp who has your request. Desi Machines does not sell these.

Desi Machines passes your request to authorised dealers and distributors. Price, stock, fitment and warranty come from them, not from us. Brand names are used only to identify the machines and parts they fit.
