Ahluwalia Contracts Wins Rs 310 Crore Bennett University Order in Greater Noida

Reviewed by 4 min read

Ahluwalia Contracts (India) has won a Rs 310 crore order to build six blocks at Bennett University in Greater Noida, with 22 months to finish. For crane, concrete and earthmoving suppliers in the NCR, that is a single campus site booked into mid-to-late 2028 if work starts now, and it lands just as Delhi-NCR heads into its winter construction curbs.

The quick facts

  • Contractor: Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd, disclosed to the exchanges on 14 October 2026.
  • Client and site: Bennett University (The Times Group), Tech Zone-II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Scope: civil and structural work on Blocks O1, O2, O3, R1, L and Q.
  • Value and term: Rs 310 crore including GST, to be executed in 22 months.

What did Ahluwalia Contracts win?

The company told the stock exchanges on 14 October that it had secured the order, classed as an institutional building project, and that the promoter group has no interest in the client, so it is not a related-party deal. Angel One and EquityPandit both carried the disclosure with the same value, block list and 22-month term. Neither the floor count, the built-up area nor the number of basements was disclosed.

What it means for buyers

Strip the GST out at 18 percent and the works value is about Rs 262.7 crore. Spread over 22 months, that is roughly Rs 11.9 crore of work a month, or an average of about Rs 44 crore a block if the six were equal (no split was given). That is a steady, single-site building job, and the machine list follows from that.

The concrete train runs for the whole term. Six blocks on one campus means tower cranes standing for most of the 22 months, a site batching set-up or a long ready-mix contract, concrete pumps and a fleet of transit mixers. Those are the classes where a contractor either owns or signs a long rental, because nothing moves until the job ends.

Earthwork is the opposite. Foundation digging is front-loaded into the first months and then stops, which is classic hire work: 20-tonne class excavators, backhoe loaders for trenching and services, tippers and plate compactors. How big that window is depends on basement depth, which nobody has published yet.

Timing matters more than usual here. Greater Noida falls under the NCR’s GRAP rules, and the stages that curb construction and earthwork have tended to bite between November and January. A contract disclosed in mid-October may find its excavation either squeezed into the next few weeks or pushed into February.

Our take: this is a rental story more than a purchase story. Crane and pump owners in western UP have a 22-month booking to bid for; excavator owners have a short, weather- and pollution-dependent window. We would not read it as a reason to buy new earthmoving iron.

What to watch

  • Basement count and built-up area for the six blocks, which set the size of the dig.
  • Whether GRAP restrictions land before the foundation stage starts.
  • Sub-let packages for excavation, piling or MEP from Ahluwalia on this site.
