MT&T Rentals Plans Rs 10 Billion Equipment Capex in FY27

A fleet-doubling bet on India’s rental demand

MT&T Rentals, an India-focused Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) specialist, has announced a Rs 10 billion capital expenditure plan for FY2026-27 aimed at doubling its rental fleet from 2,000 to 4,000 units in a single year. The company closed FY2025-26 with consolidated revenue of Rs 3.78 billion and added roughly 1,000 platforms and spider lifts during the year.

The expansion is part-funded by a Rs 1 billion private equity infusion from Value Quest, with the firm saying it is in advanced talks for a further Rs 3 billion round expected to close by October 2026. The scale-up reflects how rental now absorbs a large share of India’s construction equipment demand, especially for high-reach access work on infrastructure and façade projects.

MT&T also signalled plans to acquire niche MEWP rental firms to consolidate a fragmented market.

What it means for buyers: Site owners can expect wider availability and more competitive rental rates for aerial platforms; smaller rental operators may find acquisition interest if they hold specialist fleets.
