The scheme
Rajasthan’s PHED has floated a percentage-rate contract to augment and rehabilitate the Urban Water Supply Scheme for Bharatpur town under Amrut 2.0. The package bundles the build with a year of defect-liability cover and five years of operation and maintenance after that, so it’s a long relationship, not a hit-and-run job. The disclosed estimate is ₹81.14 Cr, and bidding opens 15 July on a three-cover system.
Where the machines come in
Urban water-supply work is trenching and tankage. Excavators and backhoe loaders open pipe lines through built-up streets, tippers clear spoil and bring bedding, and cranes lower pipe and set pumping equipment. Clear water reservoirs, sumps and pump houses keep concrete crews busy.
