Rajasthan’s PHED has floated a percentage-rate contract to augment and rehabilitate the Urban Water Supply Scheme for Bharatpur town under Amrut 2.0. The package bundles the build with a year of defect-liability cover and five years of operation and maintenance after that, so it’s a long relationship, not a hit-and-run job. The disclosed estimate is ₹81.14 Cr, and bidding opens 15 July on a three-cover system.
Urban water-supply work is trenching and tankage. Excavators and backhoe loaders open pipe lines through built-up streets, tippers clear spoil and bring bedding, and cranes lower pipe and set pumping equipment. Clear water reservoirs, sumps and pump houses keep concrete crews busy. Because so much runs through town, compact machines and careful reinstatement matter as much as raw capacity — a good fit for contractors who know municipal ground.
