Why ROB 108-A is coming down
The work is the reconstruction of the existing road over bridge No. 108-A at km 43/11-12 between Malerkotla and Kup stations on the Ludhiana, Dhuri and Jakhal section. The new structure must clear double stack containers. The construction wing at Ambala (Deputy Chief Engineer, Construction-1) issued it under reference 132-W-DyCE-C-UMB-2026-27.
Rebuilding a bridge that already carries road traffic means a diversion, a phased demolition and erection inside short railway blocks.
Deposit and paperwork
EMD is ₹1,49,03,800, 2 per cent of the value. The portal summary does not state a tender fee, opening date or completion period; they are in the NIT. No corrigendum had been issued at the time of writing.
Demolition needs breakers on excavators and a large crane to lift old deck pieces during a block. The new spans need piling or open foundations, piers and girders, so plan on transit mixers and crane time again for erection. Approach embankments call for compactors and a motor grader. Hire fleets in Ludhiana and Sangrur are close enough to serve the site.
