The road to the Feni bridge
The scope is strengthening of the Udaipur to Sabroom section from km 55.000 to km 127.372, plus raising and drainage provision in selected stretches of the Agartala to Udaipur section. Sabroom is where NH-08 meets the Bangladesh border, so this is the state’s main road south.
It is an EPC contract from NHIDCL’s corporate office in New Delhi, reference NHIDCL / Tripura / Strengthening / NH-08 / Udaipur – Sabroom / 2026. The contractor gets 548 days.
Entry cost for the bid
EMD is ₹1,61,00,000 and the fee is ₹23,600, with no exemption. The pre-bid meeting was held on 23 September at NHIDCL headquarters. Bids open at 4:30 PM on 9 October 2026.
Strengthening is mostly paving. You need a hot-mix plant within hauling distance, pavers, and a set of tandem and pneumatic rollers. Motor graders correct the profile and shape shoulders, excavators cut side drains and raise the low stretches, and wheel loaders feed the plant. Tripura’s long monsoon cuts the paving season short, so plant capacity has to be sized for the dry months.
