UJVN Ltd has invited bids for the civil works of the Tankul Small Hydro Project (3 × 4 MW) on the Simkholagad river at Dharchula, in Pithoragarh district. The scope is a proper mountain-hydro package: trench weir, power intake, river-diversion arrangements, desilting tank, feeder pipe, tunnel, surge shaft, powerhouse and the associated hydro-mechanical works. At ₹72.42 Cr on an item-rate basis, it’s a specialist job for a contractor comfortable working at altitude and on the water.
This is tunnelling and river work rolled into one.
