HD Hyundai’s construction equipment arm is putting fresh money into India, and this time it is not about excavators. The group’s site solutions holding company will fund a forklift plant and a research centre next to the machine works it already runs in Maharashtra. For anyone buying or hiring lifting kit in India, the interesting half of this is not the factory.

The money moves as a third-party share issue by the Indian subsidiary to the Korean parent. That is fresh equity into the India entity, not a loan against it. The two line items add up exactly to the headline figure, which is a decent sign the package is complete as stated rather than a rounded ambition. Start with the honest caveat. A forklift is not an excavator, and the customer sets barely overlap.
