WAPCOS has split the unfinished Right Main Canal of the North Koel Reservoir Project in Jharkhand into two packages worth ₹94.37 crore, and the North Koel right main canal tender closes at 3:00 PM on 7 October 2026.
31 kilometres of canal in two lots
Package 1 covers lining repair and balance works on the canal and its structures from RD 0 to 17.16 km, estimated at ₹50.40 crore. Package 2 takes the next reach, RD 17.16 to 31.40 km, at ₹43.97 crore. The references are WAP/NK/JHK/RMC-PKG-1/BALANCE and WAP/NK/JHK/RMC-PKG-2/BALANCE, and the portal gives the location as Japla.
These are balance works, which means an earlier contract stopped partway. Expect to find half-built structures and damaged lining, and inspect the canal before you price. The Chief Engineer of the North Koel Project at WAPCOS is the inviting authority.
Tight schedule, no fee
Both packages are percentage rate contracts with only 240 days to finish. EMD is ₹60,40,000 for Package 1 and ₹53,97,000 for Package 2, with no exemption, and there is no tender fee. Bids open at 3:30 PM on 9 October.
A 240-day window means several working fronts at once. Excavators clear slips and silt and reshape the canal section, backhoe loaders work around the structures, and tippers move earth along the bank road. Lining needs a concrete source close by, with transit mixers on steady rounds and compactors for the bed and embankment. Fleet owners in Palamu district are nearest.
