CIDCO has put a 25.287 km six lane elevated road between Thane and Navi Mumbai International Airport out to bid at ₹6,027.58 crore, and the Thane Navi Mumbai tender closes at 3:30 PM on 5 January 2027.
A 25 km viaduct from Thane to the new airport
The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra wants a six lane elevated road corridor built from Km 0+000 to Km 25+287, connecting Thane with Navi Mumbai International Airport. The work is on DBFOT toll mode, so the winning concessionaire designs it, finances it, builds it, collects toll and hands it back. The Transportation and Communication Department at CIDCO is the inviting authority, reference 01/CIDCO/CGM(T,A)/2026-27.
At ₹6,027.58 crore this is the largest tender on the site today by a wide margin, and almost all of it sits on piers. The corridor runs through built-up Thane and the Navi Mumbai node belt, which means piling next to live traffic and night-time girder launching for most of the length.
What a DBFOT bid asks of your balance sheet
The EMD is ₹60,28,00,000 and exemption is allowed, which is unusual at this size and worth reading the RFP for. The tender fee is ₹7,19,800 and the portal lists the form of contract as lump-sum. No work period is published, so the concession schedule in the RFP is the document that matters.
This is a job for a large concessionaire with a lender already in the room. For the subcontract tier the real opening is piling, precast segment casting, girder transport and erection. Maharashtra also has structure work going at three road over bridges in Latur and a strengthening package on NH-930 between Mul and Chandrapur.
Plant and machines for an elevated corridor
Piling rigs and service cranes set the pace for the first two years, with excavators and backhoe loaders on pile caps, drains and utility diversions. A segment yard needs batching plant, gantries and steady supply from transit mixers, and wheel loaders keep the aggregate moving. Approach roads and ramps at either end bring in a motor grader and compactors. Hire rates around Thane and Panvel should firm up once this one is awarded. Our road construction equipment guide sets out what each machine does on a job like this.
