LCC Projects has a letter of intent worth Rs 703 crore from the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB) for a water-supply scheme built around a river intake well, an approach bridge and rising mains. The 18-month clock started on 02 November. For machine owners in south and central Gujarat, the part that matters is the river: an intake well gets built in the dry months or it waits a year.
The work at a glance
- Winner: LCC Projects Ltd. Client: Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

What LCC disclosed
The company’s Regulation 30 filing on BSE describes the job as the survey, design and construction of an intake well with an approach bridge, followed by supply work. Zee Business reported the Rs 703 crore value, the EPC basis and the 18-month term including three months of testing. Angel One’s account of the filing adds the full scope list, says the value excludes GST, places the scheme in the Bharuch and Vadodara area and mentions ten years of operation and maintenance. No pipe length, pipe diameter, pumping capacity or river has been published.
This is LCC’s second Gujarat water order in under three weeks, after the Rs 151.57 crore Sauni Yojana award on 16 October.
Which machines this work needs
Split the order into three jobs, because each one hires differently.
The intake well and approach bridge are river work. Expect a crawler crane with a grab for sinking the well, excavators and dewatering pumps for a cofferdam, and a concrete crew for the bridge piers. Our reading is that this has to start in the low-flow months after the monsoon. With an LoI dated 02 November, the first dry window runs to about May 2027, and a second one opens around October 2027. Contractors with river-capable plant should expect enquiries early.
The rising mains are a trenching job: 20 to 22 tonne excavators cutting trench, backhoe loaders for bedding and backfill, tippers, plate compactors, and a hydra or crawler crane lowering pipe. How long the line is decides how big that spread gets, and nobody has published the length yet. Treat any fleet estimate as open until it is.
The sump, pump house and quarters are a small concrete job. Transit mixers and a concrete pump will cover them.
A large share of the Rs 703 crore will go on pumps, electricals and SCADA, which come out of a factory, and on upkeep if the O&M term holds. Spread evenly over 18 months the headline works out to about Rs 39 crore a month, but the civil spend that actually reaches site plant will be lower. For local owners, short hires on trench and pipe-laying gangs look more likely than a long-term lease.
What follows next
- The formal agreement and site handover, which fix when river work can begin.
- Rising main length and diameter, which set the trenching fleet.
- Any pipeline or civil sub-contracts LCC lets in the Bharuch-Vadodara belt.
