Itarsi’s two main drains are each getting a sewage treatment plant, 5 MLD on the Sindhi Nallah and 8 MLD on the Sonasavri Nallah, for ₹64.88 crore in total, and the Itarsi sewage treatment plant tender closes at 5:30 PM on 19 October 2026.
Two plants, two bids
Nagar Palika Parishad Itarsi has floated both under its Used Water Management Project, funded through SBM 2.0. The first is design and construction of a 5 MLD plant at the Sindhi Nallah section with interception and diversion works and gravity mains, estimated at ₹26.37 crore (reference PWD/2026/2445/16Sep2026). The second is an 8 MLD plant at the Sonasavri Nallah section with the same supporting works, at ₹38.51 crore (reference PWD/2026/2485/17Sep2026).
Interception and diversion means the drain is tapped and its flow is piped to the plant instead of running on untreated. Each tender is a separate lump-sum contract with 365 days to finish.
Numbers a bidder needs
EMD is ₹13,18,386 for the 5 MLD plant and ₹19,25,380 for the 8 MLD plant, with no exemption. The fee is ₹50,000 each. A pre-bid meeting was held at the Nagar Palika on 30 September. Bids open at 10:30 AM on 21 October 2026.
Twelve months is tight for a treatment plant. Excavators dig the reactor and tank pits in the first weeks, backhoe loaders lay the gravity mains along the nallah, and transit mixers keep pours moving through the dry season. A crane is needed when the mechanical and electrical equipment arrives. Machine owners in Itarsi and Narmadapuram are closest to both sites.
