A paving contractor’s job
It is an item-rate contract worth ₹67,90,10,220. EMD is ₹67,90,000 and the fee is ₹10,000, with no EMD exemption. What decides the bid is output: a contractor needs a hot-mix plant within reach of the corridor and enough paving sets to finish inside 75 days.
Overlay work runs on a milling machine, a sensor paver and rollers: a tandem roller and a pneumatic tyred roller behind every paver. Wheel loaders feed the hot-mix plant, and tippers carry mix to the paver without letting it cool. A motor grader helps where shoulders need rebuilding, and a backhoe loader handles patch excavation ahead of the paver.
