Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has opened bidding for 10 elevated metro stations and roughly 12.3 km of viaduct on the Baranagar-Barrackpore corridor in Kolkata, West Bengal, with bids closing 29 September 2026.

Package BBVS runs from Baranagar metro station (excluded) up to Mangal Pandey metro station, between chainage 4.68 km and 16.98 km. The winning contractor builds the viaduct along that stretch and all 10 elevated stations sitting on it. At an estimated value of Rs 1,587.39 crore, this is one of the largest single metro civil packages currently open anywhere in India.
Work of this kind sits on the ground for years. Pile foundations, pier caps, precast segment casting and launching, then station concourses and roof structures on top. The tender documents released with the notice include alignment plans in two parts, geotechnical investigation reports, road layout plans and the full BOQ, so the ground conditions along the corridor are already on the table before you price anything.
