Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation has tendered the upgradation and construction of the Nasirabad, Sarwar and Kekri road from two lanes to four, described as Phase II, over a total design length of 48.419 km. The notice calls it an EPC contract, while the portal lists the form as item rate. The contractor gets 730 days.
The stretch starts at Nasirabad, close to Ajmer, where crushers, bitumen and labour are easy to arrange.
A serious deposit
EMD is ₹7,50,46,000, a full 2 per cent of the estimate, and exemption is not allowed. The fee is ₹11,800. Bids open at 11:00 AM on 13 October. That deposit alone keeps small firms out of the main contract, but a 48 km widening needs a long list of sub-contractors for earthwork, structures and haulage.
Widening to four lanes means a new carriageway beside the old one. Excavators and tippers feed the embankment, motor graders shape each layer and soil and tandem compactors follow. Wheel loaders work the crusher and the hot-mix plant, and culvert and minor bridge work keeps backhoe loaders busy along the whole length. Fleet owners around Ajmer, Kekri and Tonk should watch who wins.
