In short

An SBI construction equipment loan helps you buy machines like excavators, backhoe loaders, cranes, tippers and compactors — new or second-hand. You can borrow from ₹10 lakh up to ₹100 crore, repay over up to 6 years (72 months), and interest usually falls around 10%–11.5% a year depending on your profile. SBI funds about 80% of the machine cost; you arrange the rest. Individuals, contractors and companies can all apply. Tell us your machine and city, and the Desi Machines finance desk will help you get the loan moving — no long queues, no confusing paperwork.

About this lender

Financing your machine with State Bank of India

Buying a machine is a big decision. A good excavator or crane can cost as much as a house, and very few businesses want to pay all of that in one go. This is where the State Bank of India (SBI) comes in. As the country’s largest public sector bank, SBI has been lending to builders, contractors and transporters since 1955, and it runs branches in almost every district — small towns included. So even if your worksite is far from a big city, there is usually an SBI branch nearby that understands equipment finance.

An SBI construction equipment loan is money the bank gives you to buy a machine. You use the machine to earn, and you repay the loan in easy monthly instalments (EMIs) out of that income. The machine itself acts as the security for the loan, so you don’t always need to pledge extra property. SBI funds both brand-new machines and good used ones, which is a big help if you are just starting out and a second-hand backhoe fits your budget better.

What can you finance? Almost anything that does real work on a site — excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, cranes, compactors and road rollers, concrete mixers, motor graders, tippers, crushers, generators and material-handling equipment. It does not matter whether the exact model is listed on Desi Machines or not — if it is a genuine construction or mining machine, SBI can usually fund it.

For most people the loan runs from ₹10 lakh to ₹100 crore, with repayment stretched up to 6 years. Interest is linked to SBI’s benchmark rate and usually sits around 10%–11.5% per year. Pay your EMIs on time and SBI even gives a small rate rebate as a thank-you. In plain terms: you get the machine now, keep your cash free for fuel, wages and running costs, and let the machine pay for itself month by month. Prefer a private lender instead? You can also compare HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv and other options on our finance page, or protect your machine with SBI General Insurance.

Loan amounts, interest rates and tenures shown here are indicative and are decided by SBI based on your profile. Please confirm the latest terms with the bank or our finance desk before you apply.
