Deendayal Port Authority’s Pipeline Division is building a road-over-bridge with roads and allied facilities at Tuna– Tekra on EPC mode, estimated at ₹ 374.24 Cr. This is port-connectivity work, the kind that has to take heavy port traffic over a rail line, so the structure, the approaches and the drainage all have to be built to last. Earnest money is ₹ 7.48 Cr with exemption allowed for eligible bidders, the tender fee is ₹ 5,900, and bid validity runs 120 days.

A fit for bridge specialists

An ROB on EPC at this value calls for contractors who do bridge and grade-separator work for a living. You carry the design, so in-house or tied-up structural design strength matters, along with the bid capacity and similar ROB or flyover experience the RFP asks for. Coastal Kutch adds salt-air durability and a high water table to think about. The approach roads and embankments bring in excavators, motor graders, soil compactors, tippers and a paver. Near the coast, plan dewatering pumps for the foundations and good curing arrangements so the salt air doesn’t shorten the structure’s life.
