The Public Works Department (R&B) of Ladakh, through its R&B Division Zanskar in Kargil, has invited open bids to construct the link road from Kargyak to Chumic Gyatsa Sarchu, funded under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund. The estimated value is ₹107.65 crore and the work is priced on a percentage-rate basis. This is high-altitude road building in one of the country’s toughest terrains, where the season is short and logistics decide the schedule as much as the engineering does.
