Chambal Alwar Bharatpur Tender: Water Supply Packages 2 and III (Rs 3,608.66 Cr)

Rajasthan PHED has two packages of the Chambal Alwar Bharatpur water supply project open for bids, worth ₹3,608.66 crore together on hybrid annuity, with both closing on 10 December 2026.

Two packages, one pipeline programme

The project carries treated Chambal water to towns and village clusters across Bharatpur and Alwar under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and PHED has split the build into numbered packages. The intake end at Dholpur went out earlier as the Chambal intake well tender. The two now open cover the transmission and distribution side.

Package 2 (₹2,386.57 crore, NIT 05/2024-25) is the trunk. It covers an intermediate clear water pump house at Kotra Baseri and the clear water transmission main from Kotra to Naroli, then on to Nadbai via junction 2 at Naroli, with the lines serving Nadbai, Nagar, Ramgarh, Kishangarhbas, Tijara, Jairoli and Bhiwadi.

Package III (₹1,222.09 crore, NIT 06/2024-25) is the distribution end. It covers clear water reservoirs and block pump houses at several locations, transfer mains from block pumping stations to cluster pumping stations, rising mains on to elevated service reservoirs, the ESRs themselves, and cluster distribution mains.

Reading the notices before you bid

Both notices went up in the spring of 2025 and have been extended many times since: the source record shows eight corrigenda on Package 2 and nine on Package III. The current closing date for both is 10 December 2026, with opening on 11 December. With that many amendments, download the latest corrigendum first and read it against the NIT, because scope, dates and eligibility may all have shifted.

Earnest money is ₹47,73,14,152 on Package 2 and ₹24,44,17,755 on Package III, two per cent of each estimate, so the values check out. The tender fee is ₹1,18,000 on each. Package 2 notes that EMD exemption is allowed for eligible bidders. Both are percentage-rate contracts; Package 2 runs on three covers.

The lead bids suit large water EPC firms with HAM appetite. For machine owners and smaller civil contractors, the real opportunity is the trenching, pipe laying and reservoir work that follows the award across the Bharatpur and Alwar belt. Other live work in the state includes the Kartarpura nallah tender in Jaipur and the NH-62 four-laning tender from Nagaur to Bikaner.

What long pipelines ask of a fleet

Transmission and rising mains mean kilometre after kilometre of trench, so tracked excavators lead the spread with backhoe loaders on bedding, backfill and road crossings. Pipe handling needs cranes or pipe layers, and compactors restore the trench and any road cut. Pump houses, reservoirs and ESRs are concrete jobs that keep transit mixers and batching plants running for months.
