Rebuilding a city drain end to end
The work runs from the Sawai Madhopur railway line to Shipra Path, a stretch of the Kartarpura Nallah that carries a large share of south Jaipur’s storm runoff. The tender covers restoration and construction together, which in practice means rebuilding the channel section rather than patching it.
Jaipur has been steadily converting its natural nallahs into engineered channels after repeated monsoon flooding, and this is one of the bigger single packages in that programme. The authority is the Director Engineering-II wing of JDA, running through the Superintending Engineer 04 and Executive Engineer 05 offices, reference EE-C2/18/2026-27.

What channel work needs
Nallah reconstruction through a built city is confined work. Excavators do most of the cutting and desilting, with backhoe loaders handling the narrow approaches and service diversions where a tracked machine cannot turn.
The rebuilt channel itself is concrete-heavy: retaining walls, invert slabs and covered sections keep concrete mixers running, with cranes placing precast sections and covers over the length of the reach.
