In short
- We collect what you tell us in forms, on WhatsApp, on calls and by email, and some information about how you use our website.
- We use it to answer your enquiry, follow up on it, and run and improve DesiMachines.
- We share your enquiry with the brand or authorised dealer that can help you, and with lenders or insurers only when you ask about finance or insurance.
- Some WhatsApp replies are prepared with the help of an AI system. A person from our team takes over when needed.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, stop our messages, and complain to our Grievance Officer. We do not sell your data to data brokers.
1. Who we are
DesiMachines (desimachines.com) is run by Desi Machine Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in India (CIN U66190WR2026PTC293360), with its registered office at P-30, Block B, Lake Town, Kolkata 700089, West Bengal. In this policy, “DesiMachines”, “we” and “us” mean Desi Machine Pvt. Ltd.
For the personal data described here, we are the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This policy is also published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies when you visit desimachines.com, fill in a form, verify your mobile number, list a machine, subscribe to notifications or our newsletter, apply for a job, or talk to us on WhatsApp, by phone, by SMS or by email. It does not cover other websites we link to; their own policies apply there.

3. What we collect

Please do not send us sensitive details we have not asked for, such as your Aadhaar number, bank passwords or health information. If you upload a photo of a document, cover any number you do not want to share.
4. Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry: understand your need, send prices, brochures and contact details, and pass your enquiry to the business that can help. You gave us your details for this purpose.
- To follow up on your enquiry by call, SMS, email or WhatsApp, with your consent where the law requires it. You can stop this at any time (section 7).
- To make our replies relevant, using the pages and machines you viewed on desimachines.com and what you told us. Tell us if you do not want this and we will stop.
- To review and list machines and connect sellers with interested buyers.
- To send alerts and newsletters you asked for, with your consent, which you can withdraw.
- To run, secure and improve the site: keep forms and logins working, prevent spam and fraud, fix errors and understand what helps buyers.
- To measure and advertise through analytics and advertising tools (section 8).
- To consider job applications.
- To meet legal duties, answer lawful requests and handle complaints and disputes.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you, such as approving a loan. Lenders and insurers make those decisions themselves.
5. Who we share it with
- Brands and authorised dealers: when you ask about a machine, we share your name, mobile number, location and enquiry, and what happened with it, with the brand or authorised dealer that can quote or help you.
- Lenders and insurers: only if you ask about a loan, EMI or insurance, we share the details needed for that request with banks, NBFCs or insurers. Their decision and their own privacy policy apply from then on.
- Buyers and sellers of listed machines: if you list a machine, we may share your machine details and contact with interested buyers. If you enquire about a listed machine, we may share your contact with its seller.
- Service providers who work for us under contract and only on our instructions: website hosting and security, cloud storage and business email, analytics and advertising, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, AI services, location lookup, email newsletters, push notifications, and the technology partner that builds and runs our systems.
- Authorities: courts, police, regulators or government bodies when the law requires it, or to protect our users, our team or the public from fraud or harm.
- A new owner, if DesiMachines is merged or sold, who must follow this policy.
We do not sell your personal data to data brokers, and we do not publish your phone number.
6. AI tools and automated replies
Some replies on our WhatsApp line are prepared by an AI system working on our instructions. To reply, it reads your messages and the enquiry details we hold about you. A member of our team steps in when needed, and you can ask for a person at any time. We also use AI tools to improve how we answer buyers.
AI replies can be wrong. Treat a price or specification in a message as general information, not a quotation. We do not let AI make decisions about you that have legal effects.
7. Calls, SMS, WhatsApp, emails and notifications
After you send an enquiry or list a machine, we may call you, or send you an SMS, email or WhatsApp message about it.
- WhatsApp: reply STOP and we will stop messaging you.
- Calls and SMS: tell our team, or write to legal@desimachines.com.
- Notifications: change or switch them off on the alert settings page or in your browser.
- Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link, or write to us.
Stopping our messages does not stop a business we have already passed your enquiry to. Ask them directly, or ask us and we will pass your request on.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We and our service providers also use similar tools such as local storage and scripts.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the opt-out tools offered by analytics and advertising providers. If you block necessary cookies, logins and some forms may not work.
9. Location
- We suggest your city in forms from the approximate location of your IP address. You can change it.
- If you tap “Use my location”, your browser asks your permission, and a location service turns your position into a city name.
- When you list a machine, we ask for your device’s location and read the time and location stored in the photos, so buyers can trust where and when they were taken. You can refuse device location in your browser.
10. Where your data is stored
Some of our service providers store or process data outside India. We transfer data outside India only as Indian law allows, and we will stop sending data to any country the Government of India restricts.
11. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, to resolve disputes, and to meet legal requirements, such as keeping security logs and records for the period the law sets. When that period ends, or when you withdraw consent or ask us to erase your data and we have no legal reason to keep it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
12. How we protect it
We use reasonable security practices: encrypted connections, access limited to people who need it, protection of logins and one-time passwords, security tools, and contracts that require our service providers to keep data safe. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
13. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:
- Get information about the personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and who we have shared it with.
- Correct, complete or update your data.
- Erase your data, unless we must keep it by law.
- Withdraw consent you gave us, as easily as you gave it. This does not affect what we did before, and some services may stop working.
- Nominate a person to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act.
- Complain to our Grievance Officer, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use a right, write to legal@desimachines.com from the email or mention the mobile number you gave us. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example with an OTP. We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and reply within one month.
14. Children
DesiMachines is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
15. Data about other people
If you give us someone else’s details, make sure you are allowed to share them. Sellers must not upload photos of other people’s identity documents.
16. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our services or the law change. The effective date and version at the top of this page show when it last changed. Where the law requires, we will tell you about important changes and ask for fresh consent.
