GMDA is building a 200 MLD main pumping station, a 100 MLD sewage treatment plant and a Bio-CNG plant on one site at Dhanwapur in Gurugram, and the Dhanwapur STP tender closes at 12:00 noon on 11 November 2026.
Three plants, one contract, eleven years of responsibility
The scope on the portal reads as construction of a 200 MLD main pumping station and a 100 MLD STP along with a Bio-CNG plant, followed by operation and maintenance for ten years after a one year defect liability period. The Infra II wing of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority is the inviting office, and the estimate is ₹1,82,74,41,782 with 540 days of construction.
The Bio-CNG element is what makes this notice different from a routine sewage job. Sludge and organic waste get converted to gas instead of being trucked away, so the winning bidder needs a process partner, not only a civil team.
Eleven years is the real contract
One year of defect liability plus ten years of operation means the revenue tail dwarfs the construction fee. Price the power bill, the chemicals and the staffing for a decade, because a plant that is cheap to build and expensive to run will lose money here. EMD is ₹3,65,48,840 with exemption allowed, and the fee is ₹5,000.
The notice was published on 11 September 2026 and bids open at 3:00 PM on the same day it closes. Dhanwapur is already GMDA’s main treatment site, so expect to build alongside working plant with all the access constraints that brings.
Deep excavation next to a running plant
A pumping station of that capacity means a deep wet well, so dewatering, shoring and careful excavation with excavators working inside a tight footprint. The STP tanks are large reinforced concrete structures fed by transit mixers, with a crane setting pumps, blowers and mechanical gear.
Backhoe loaders handle the interconnecting pipework and drains, and a compactor finishes the internal roads and yard. Working next to live plant means short lifts and no room for error, which favours compact machines and experienced operators over raw size.
