The Paithan to Shirur stretch of NH-752E is being re-tendered in two risk and cost packages worth Rs 99.12 crore between them, and the later Paithan Shirur tender package closes at 5:30 PM on 27 October 2026.
Finishing a package that stalled
Both notices come from the NH Division at Aurangabad under the Mumbai regional office of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and both deal with the same 55.937 km package from Paithan through Pategaon, Mungi, Hatgaon, Bodhegaon, Ladjalgaon, Ghogaspargaon, Phulsangvi, Ukhandachakla and Dahiwandi to Shirur. The road is being taken to two lanes with paved shoulders in a four lane configuration.
The first notice, NIT No-4/3001607, is the balance work under risk and cost at Rs 66,55,05,316 over 330 days and closes at 5:30 PM on 22 October 2026. The second, NIT No.04/3001687, is risk and cost work for the upgradation on EPC mode at Rs 32,57,48,150 over 335 days and closes at 5:30 PM on 27 October 2026. Check which package you are downloading, because the dates are five days apart.
What risk and cost means for your bid
A risk and cost tender is issued when the original contractor fails and the department completes the work at that contractor’s expense. For a new bidder the work is real and the payment is normal, but the site comes as it was left: part built layers, open structures and material of uncertain quality. Walk the alignment before you price it.
Taking over an abandoned stretch usually starts with removing what has failed. Excavators and tippers clear rejected layers and reshape the embankment, then a motor grader and compactors rebuild base and sub base to the right level. A wheel loader at the plant and a backhoe loader for drains and approaches round it out, with transit mixers for the culverts left half finished. Eleven months is a short run, so machines in good condition matter more than low hire rates.
Completing the upgradation of 55.937 km from Paithan to Shirur on NH-752E to two lanes with paved shoulders, in two risk and cost packages.
Why are there two tenders for one road?
The work is being completed at the risk and cost of the earlier contractor, and the department has split the remaining scope into a balance work package of ₹66.55 crore and an upgradation package of ₹32.57 crore.
Do they close on the same day?
No. The balance work package closes at 5:30 PM on 22 October 2026 and the risk and cost upgradation package closes at 5:30 PM on 27 October 2026.
What deposits apply?
₹66,55,053 and ₹32,57,482, both 1 per cent of the respective estimate, with a ₹10,000 fee on each.
