Package-1 on NH-14 covers 64.9 km of strengthening through Birbhum at ₹203.33 crore, and the NH-14 strengthening tender closes at 11:00 AM on 7 December 2026.
From km 309.100 to km 374.000, minus the Suri ROB
The contract strengthens NH-14 between km 309.100 and km 374.000 in West Bengal on EPC mode. The road over bridge at Suri is excluded and is dealt with separately, so the pavement work stops and restarts around it. The inviting office is the ministry Regional Office at Kolkata, reference RO-KOL/NH-14/2026-27/02, and the portal shows 540 days.
At ₹203.33 crore across 64.9 km the rate works out near ₹3.1 crore a kilometre, which is strengthening money rather than widening money. Expect bituminous layers, shoulder repair, drainage and junction work instead of fresh earthwork.
Three packages, one regional office, one deadline
The Kolkata office published this alongside two other national highway jobs on 23 October, all closing on the same morning: the NH-117 widening in South 24 Parganas and the NH-114 strengthening between Surul and Mallarpur. This one and the NH-114 job are both in Birbhum, so a contractor who takes both can run them from a single camp and share plant between them.
EMD here is ₹2,03,33,000, 1 per cent of estimate, with a ₹30,000 fee. Bids open at 11:30 AM on 8 December. The three packages together come to over ₹508 crore of road work in one state, which is a real argument for buying rather than hiring if you win more than one.
Plant for 65 km of bitumen
The controlling resource is the hot-mix plant and the tipper fleet feeding it. Behind the paver come compactors in sequence, and a motor grader trims shoulders. Excavators and backhoe loaders clear and rebuild side drains along the whole length, and junction improvements bring in concrete mixers. Birbhum crusher units sit close to the alignment, so aggregate leads stay short and the margin sits in plant uptime.
