The road that carries pilgrim and quarry traffic from Ghoti up to Trimbak is going to four lanes with paved shoulders over 47.6 km at ₹794.26 crore, and the Ghoti Trimbak tender closes at 5:00 PM on 8 December 2026.
Forty-seven kilometres on the Trimbak road
Scope is the rehabilitation and upgradation of the Ghoti to Trimbak section of NH-160A, km 53.500 to km 101.100, to a four-lane with paved shoulders standard. That is 47.600 km, on EPC mode, with 540 days to finish. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is tendering it through RO Mumbai under P6 Delhi, reference RW/NH-12014/ 148/2024-MAH/ZONE-IV, and the portal puts the site at Ghoti, pincode 422402, in Nashik district.
This corridor links the Mumbai Agra highway near Ghoti to Trimbakeshwar. It runs through the Western Ghat edge, so expect hill cutting on parts of the alignment, heavy monsoon drainage and long stretches where the existing carriageway has to stay open while you widen beside it.
Read the second call carefully
The portal marks this a 2nd call, which means the first round did not produce a bid the ministry could award. Something changed or something put bidders off the first time, and the bid documents are where you find out which. Check whether the quantities, the timeline or the land availability position moved between calls before you build your rate.
Eighteen months for 47.6 km of four-laning means several fronts running at once, and that is a fleet question more than a manpower one. Ghat sections put excavators with breakers on rock cutting while tippers run spoil to approved dumps. On the flatter reaches a motor grader and heavy compactors build granular and bituminous layers behind a paver, fed by a wheel loader at the hot-mix and crusher.
Culverts, minor bridges and the retaining walls that hill widening always needs take transit mixers and a crane on site through most of the contract. Keeping traffic moving is its own line item, so backhoe loaders will work diversions, side drains and utility shifting daily. Our guide to road construction equipment walks through how these machines fit together on a widening job. Nashik, Igatpuri and Sinnar fleet owners are within a short mobilisation of every front.
