Bids close at 3:00 PM on 25 November 2026 for the Ujjain ropeway tender, a DBFOT line from Ujjain Jn railway station to the Mahakaleshwar temple that the earnest money puts at roughly ₹258.50 crore.
Built for Simhastha crowds
National Highways Logistics Management Limited wants a ropeway developed, operated and maintained between Ujjain Jn railway station and the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain district, under reference NHLML/Ropeways/Ujjain/DBFOT/26. The portal lists it as civil works with a period of 730 days, which lines up with the city getting ready for Simhastha 2028.
Ujjain is spending heavily on the same deadline. Drainage, sewerage and plant work across the city are already out to bid, including the Sadawal sewage treatment plant tender that takes the plant to 50 MLD.
The value is not stated, so read the deposit
The portal shows no tender value for this one. Earnest money is ₹5,17,00,000, which works back to about ₹258.50 crore if the deposit is the usual 2 per cent, and that figure should be treated as a guide rather than an official estimate. Confirm it from the request for proposal before you price anything. The document fee is ₹35,400 and bids open at 3:30 PM on 26 November.
The notice went up on 10 September 2026, so anyone starting now has very little runway. Two other NHLML ropeway concessions are open with more time on them, the Kamakhya ropeway tender in Assam and, from a state corporation, the much larger Parwanoo Shimla ropeway tender.
Plant for a job inside a crowded town
The alignment runs through built-up Ujjain between the station and the temple, so tower sites will be small, fenced and surrounded by traffic. That means compact excavators and backhoe loaders for pits and services diversion, transit mixers working to a night-time window, and a crane with enough reach to lift over a boundary wall.
Station buildings at both ends bring the usual building fleet. Contractors already working the Simhastha packages in Ujjain have the depots, the labour and the municipal permissions to make this straightforward.
