Man Infraconstruction has added Rs 583 crore of EPC work in one filing: a Rs 508 crore residential tower at Marine Lines in South Mumbai and a Rs 75 crore reclamation job at Jawaharlal Nehru Port. The two jobs need almost opposite fleets. One is a vertical concrete job that runs for years on a cramped city plot. The other is open-ground earthwork beside a container terminal.
The work at a glance
- Total: two EPC work orders worth Rs 583 crore, disclosed to BSE and NSE on 3 November 2026.
- Rs 508 crore: construction of a skyscraper residential tower at Marine Lines, South Mumbai. The client, height and floor count were not disclosed.
- Rs 75 crore: a Letter of Acceptance from Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Private Limited for triangular yard-surcharging and reclamation works at JNPA (Nhava Sheva), Navi Mumbai. The company calls it a repeat order.
- The EPC portfolio rises from Rs 275 crore at the end of September 2026 to about Rs 858 crore.
What Man Infraconstruction disclosed
The company filed a press release under Regulation 30 at 10:00 am on Tuesday. Free Press Journal and InvestyWise carried the same split, and the numbers add up: Rs 508 crore plus Rs 75 crore is the Rs 583 crore total, and Rs 275 crore plus Rs 583 crore gives the Rs 858 crore portfolio. Managing Director Manan Shah called the two orders a significant milestone for the EPC business. The company also said it will keep using its EPC arm mainly for its own real estate projects and take outside work selectively.
Which machines this work needs
Start with where the money sits. The tower is about 87 percent of the new value, and the order book has roughly tripled. Most of the machine hours will come from the Marine Lines site.
A high-rise on a tight South Mumbai plot is a foundations-then-concrete job. The company has not said how deep the foundations go or whether there are basements, so the size of the dig is unknown. What is predictable is the structure phase. A tower crane and a concrete pump will carry most of the work, floor after floor, for the whole contract. Mobile cranes come in for erection and dismantling. Without a floor count there is no honest per-floor rate to calculate, so we have not given one.
The JNPA job is a different kind of work. Surcharging means piling fill above the final level so the soft ground underneath settles before the yard is paved. That is tipper and excavator work for loading and placing fill, dozer work for spreading it, and soil compactors for the finished layers. Fill placed as surcharge is usually trimmed or moved once the ground has settled, so some material gets handled twice.
Our read, hedged: neither order is a strong buy signal. Rs 75 crore is modest, and because it is a repeat order the contractor probably has plant at the terminal already, so any extra machines are more likely to be hired. Mumbai’s monsoon also puts open earthwork on hold from roughly June to September. That leaves the dry months from now to May as the main window. The tower is better business for tower-crane and concrete-pump rental firms in Mumbai, joining the city towers in L&T’s latest building orders.
