Amanat Barrage Tender: A Turnkey Scheme in Palamu with 10 Years of O and M (Rs 605.11 Cr)

Complete job, then ten years of running it

The Water Resources Department wants the scheme implemented as a proposed system on turnkey basis, described on the portal as a complete job, with 10 years of operation, maintenance and management after commissioning. The reference is WRD/ACD/MED/TURNKEY-01/2026-27 and the executing office is the Executive Engineer, Irrigation Division 1, Sikatia, under the Chief Engineer for major and medium projects.

The site is in Palamu district, in the Amanat river belt south of Daltonganj. A barrage contract bundles river works, head regulators, canal structures and a mechanical package, and the ten-year O and M tail means the bidder has to design for parts availability, not just for the handover certificate.

Deposit, period and who should bid

The estimate is ₹6,05,10,99,100, the EMD is ₹6,05,11,000, exactly 1 per cent, and the tender fee is ₹10,000. The portal gives 1,095 days for construction and bids open at 3:00 PM on 16 December. This is a job for a water resources EPC firm with barrage references, usually in a joint venture with a gates and hoists manufacturer.

Jharkhand has steady road work out as well, from the 19.149 km Pindi Giru Gudri rebuild to the Manushmuria Darishol reconstruction near Ghatsila, which is worth watching if you are mobilising a fleet in the state anyway.

Barrage construction runs to the river calendar: you get the dry months for the raft and piers, so plant has to be on site and working before the water drops.
