NH-31 Ghazipur Tender: 39.279 km of One Time Improvement to the Bihar Border (Rs 77.40 Cr)

NHAI wants 39.279 km of NH-31 between Rauza Chauraha in Ghazipur and the Uttar Pradesh Bihar border brought up to standard in 180 days for ₹77.40 crore, and this NH-31 Ghazipur tender closes at 11:00 AM on 3 December 2026.

Two reaches, one short programme

The scope is one time improvement of the existing stretch from km 486.421 to km 523.700 and from km 528.000 to km 530.000, a total of 39.279 km, on EPC mode. PIU Ghazipur is handling it under reference UPDIV-21011 /247/ 2026-PIU Ghazipur/ E-331570.

This is the second improvement package PIU Ghazipur has put out on the same highway. The earlier 36.766 km package at ₹66.69 crore carries the next reference number in the same series and closes two days before this one, so the office is splitting the route into manageable lengths rather than tendering it whole.

180 days is the headline condition

One time improvement contracts are about speed. The portal gives 180 days, the EMD is ₹77,40,000 at 1 per cent of the ₹77,40,00,000 estimate, and the fee is ₹10,000. The form of contract shows as item rate on the portal while the notice calls it EPC mode. Bids open at 11:30 AM on 4 December.

Six months to resurface and repair nearly 40 km means two or three fronts working at once, with material tied up before you start. Contractors who know the Ghazipur belt also have the SH-108 widening between Ghazipur and Turtipar to look at.

A paving fleet, not an earthwork fleet

Improvement work on an existing carriageway is milling, patching, profile correction and a bituminous overlay, with shoulder and drain repair alongside. You need a hot mix plant within haul distance, a paver and tandem and pneumatic rollers, a motor grader for shoulders and wheel loaders at the plant.
