Bengaluru, December 9, 2025 — A new wave of compact equipment has arrived as Mahindra makes a bold entry into the mini compactor segment at EXCON 2025. Mahindra Construction Equipment (MCE) has recently launched its road construction equipment called COMPAX Mini Compactor. This new model by Mahindra CE was unveiled at BIEC, Bengaluru, on Monday. COMPAX Mini Compactor is designed to meet the rising demand for a precise, fuel-efficient, reliable, and affordable compactor for India’s infrastructure growth. 

What Mahindra launched at EXCON 2025

At the CII-organised EXCON 2025 held in Bengaluru and hosted by CII, Mahindra Construction Equipment (MCE) presented the COMPAX Mini Compactor, its first foray into this category of mini compactors. This new product represents a continuation of Mahindra’s growth from its well-established EarthMaster Backhoe Loader and RoadMaster Motor Grader series.

According to Autocar Pro, the COMPAX Mini Compactor is equipped with a 2.0-litre, 3-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine generating 25hp and 125 Nm of torque. The machine provides dual frequency vibration settings at 55Hz and 65Hz, allowing users to select the best condition according to soil properties and depth of compaction.

According to NDTV Auto, the mini compactor features a 720mm drum and a single-piece oscillation shaft that enhances performance consistency and provides durability. To provide operator comfort, Mahindra has incorporated an ergonomically designed platform, easily accessible service points, and simplified maintenance solutions for continuous operation.

Where a mini compactor actually earns its keep

The introduction of the COMPAX mini compactor by Mahindra aimed for various applications. The applications include infrastructure applications, including roads, paving patches, urban development, and city government projects. Due to its compact size, the mini compactor can be used effectively in narrow roads, rural areas, local development projects, and non-motorised areas where larger types of compactors may not fit.

Service network and warranty

To support the COMPAX Mini Compactor, Mahindra has established over 136 touchpoints in India, consisting of dealerships, service centres, and retail outlets. The COMPAX Mini Compactor features a 1-year or 2,000-hour warranty that adds to the attractiveness of the product for contractors and rental businesses.

The launch of the COMPAX Mini Compactor fits into Mahindra’s long-term strategy to provide customers with a full range of equipment within all major categories of construction. The quick transition to urbanisation in India has helped create a huge growth opportunity for Mahindra, with contractors, government agencies, and rental fleets all wanting compact, fuel-efficient, and dependable compaction equipment.

What this means if you are buying a compactor

A 25 hp, 720 mm-drum machine is not a substitute for a tandem roller on a highway package — it is for the work a full-size roller cannot reach: patch repairs, internal colony roads, trench reinstatement and shoulder work. If that is the majority of your order book, the mini class is the right bracket; if it is occasional, hiring one usually beats owning one.
