Uttarakhand PWD has put two Central Road Infrastructure Fund packages in Almora district out together, worth Rs 61.88 crore between them, and both Almora road tenders close at 05:00 PM on 18 November 2026.
One NIT, two state highways
The first package is improvement and damrikaran of the Khairna Ranikhet Mohan motor road, SH-14, from km 0.000 to km 26.000 in the Ranikhet assembly constituency, valued at Rs 32,30,87,000. The second is reconstruction and damrikaran of the Barechhina Seraghat motor road, SH-3, in the same district, valued at Rs 29,56,84,000. Both come from the 1st Circle Almora under one notice, reference 4072/Nivida-01/2026-27 dated 15/10/2026, and both are funded under CRIF.
Because the two share a notice, a closing time and a work period, they are really one procurement split by road. A contractor who wins both runs them from a single camp between Ranikhet and Almora, which is roughly an hour apart on the SH network.
Deposits, fees and the 455 day clock
Each package is an item rate contract with 455 days. SH-14 carries a deposit of Rs 56,12,000 and SH-3 Rs 54,09,000, and the fee is Rs 5,900 for each. Bids open at 02:00 PM on 19 November. Note that the SH-14 deposit is about 1.7 per cent of its value while the SH-3 deposit is about 1.8 per cent, so neither is a flat figure.
At Almora altitudes the useful working window runs roughly March to November, so 455 days really means two part seasons. Reconstruction on SH-3 means cutting out and rebuilding the formation in places, which is excavator and tipper work with retaining walls behind it. Improvement on SH-14 leans on a motor grader and compactors once the base is right. Backhoe loaders suit the narrow reaches where a bigger machine cannot turn, and breast wall and culvert pours need a mixer on site rather than ready mix trucked up the hill. Owners in Haldwani and Ranikhet are the natural suppliers here.

Why are these two Almora road tenders in one post?
They share a single PWD notice, reference 4072/Nivida-01/2026-27, the same closing time and the same 455 day period. Only the road and the value differ.
What are the two values?
₹32,30,87,000 for the Khairna Ranikhet Mohan road on SH-14 and ₹29,56,84,000 for the Barechhina Seraghat road on SH-3, which is ₹61.88 crore together.
What does damrikaran mean on these notices?
It is the state term for bituminous surfacing. Both packages finish with a paving campaign after the formation work is done.
Can one contractor bid for both?
Yes. They are separate tender IDs, so each needs its own bid and its own deposit, but the same notice covers them and the sites are close enough to run from one camp.
