Sarkhej Dholera Semi High-Speed Railway Line Tender, Gujarat

Western Railway has invited bids for the Sarkhej to Dholera semi high-speed double railway line in Gujarat, a Rs 18,901.68 crore works contract that stays open until 9 December 2026.

This is the largest single tender to appear on our board. The Sarkhej Dholera railway line package covers the main double line plus spur lines to the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex and the Dholera airport terminal, and it is being tendered by the Dy. CE/C/SHSR/ADI Engineering office of Western Railway. The EMD alone is Rs 378.03 crore.

Everything the contract bundles

The civil scope carries formation and viaduct, bridges, station buildings and associated works. On top of that sit the track system in both ballasted and ballastless form, overhead traction with electrical general services, signalling and telecommunication, an operating control centre, and integration of all systems through to testing and commissioning. In other words, one contractor takes the corridor from earth to running trains.

Who realistically bids

At this value, the prime bidder will be a large infrastructure group or a joint venture, very likely with an international partner on the high-speed systems side. The real opportunity for most readers sits one level down. A corridor of this length generates years of subcontracted earthwork, viaduct segment casting and erection, bridge substructure, station civil work and haulage. If you own plant in the Ahmedabad to Dholera belt, this tender is worth tracking simply because of the subcontract pipeline that follows the award.

Equipment the corridor will absorb

Formation work means excavators and tipper fleets at scale, with motor graders and heavy compactors shaping and rolling the embankment. Viaduct and bridge work needs high-capacity cranes, launching equipment and a casting yard fed by batching plants and concrete mixers. 2. Search by tender ID IREPS-CPMSHSRADIWRSEJDSIREPC01 (reference no. CPMSHSRADIWRSEJDSIREPC01) under Western Railway.
3. Register on IREPS and keep a valid Class III digital signature certificate ready.
4. Download the NIT and the RFP dated 31 July 2026, then work through eligibility and the Rs 378.03 crore EMD. There is no tender fee.
