A concrete highway that has broken up along 14.1 km between the Karnataka border and Akkalkot in Solapur district is being put back into shape, and the Akkalkot road tender from MoRTH now closes at 5:30 PM on 25 November 2026.
Repairing a failed concrete road
The scope is repairs and construction of the damaged PQC (pavement quality concrete) portion, 14.1 km in all, on the stretch from the Karnataka Maharashtra border at km 70.682 to Akkalkot at km 106.526. It also includes strengthening at Dudhani (km 74.240 to 77.420), Maindargi (km 89.084 to 92.045) and Akkalkot (from km 99.580). The portal cuts the title short at that point, so take the full chainages from the tender document.
The Executive Engineer, National Highway Division, Solapur is the inviting authority, and the reference is NHD/TC/EPC/2877/2025 dated 4 November 2025. The tender was first published that day and has been extended repeatedly since.
No published value
The portal shows the tender value as not available. EMD is ₹70,00,000 with no exemption. MoRTH works usually carry a deposit of 1 per cent, which would put the estimate near ₹70 crore, or about ₹35 crore if this one is at 2 per cent. The fee is ₹10,000 and the period of work is 730 days.
A pre-bid meeting is listed for 3:00 PM on 13 October at the office of the Chief Engineer, National Highway (PW), Konkan Bhavan. Bids open at 3:00 PM on 30 November. Other highway work open in the state includes the Phaltan NH-965 widening tender and the Parali road over bridge tender.
Concrete road plant
Replacing PQC panels means breaking out the old slab, fixing the base and paving again. Excavators with rock breakers remove the damaged concrete, wheel loaders and tippers clear it, and a motor grader with rollers rebuilds the dry lean concrete base. The new slab needs a batching plant, transit mixers and a slip-form or fixed-form paver. Contractors with a concrete paving set in Solapur or Kalaburagi are closest.
