India has about six hydraulic component makers big enough to supply machine builders directly. The hydraulic cylinder manufacturers in India on that list are Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, Veljan and Hyva. The pump and valve side adds Dynamatic Technologies, Yuken India and Polyhydron, and hoses come from Polyhose. Most of their plants sit in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Maharashtra, which is why so much of the country’s fluid power industry is clustered in the south.
Hydraulics means using oil under pressure to do work. A pump pushes the oil. Valves decide where it goes. Cylinders turn that pressure into a push or a pull, and hoses carry the oil between all of them. When your boom lifts or your bucket curls, that is hydraulics doing the job. The companies below are the ones who build those parts before the machine is ever assembled.
This page is about who makes them, not what they cost. For what a part costs and how to order one, our parts and running costs guide is the place to go.

Four parts, four supplier groups. The oil leaves the tank, the pump
pressurises it, the valve directs it, the cylinder does the work, and it returns.
Reading the diagram. Pumps on this page come from Dynamatic Technologies, Yuken India, Veljan and Polyhydron. Control valves come from Polyhydron, Yuken India, Veljan Denison and Bosch Rexroth. Cylinders come from Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, Veljan and Hyva. Hoses come from Polyhose. No single company on this list makes all four, which is why a machine assembled in India still carries parts from four or five different suppliers.
How this list was built
A company qualified for this page if it does three things: manufactures in India, publishes on its own website what it makes and where it makes it, and builds components that go into construction, mining or off-highway machines rather than only factory equipment. Every fact below was read on the company’s own website in October 2026 and is attributed in the sentence that uses it.
The list is alphabetical, not a ranking. Nobody publishes an audited table of who supplies the most hydraulic parts in India, so any ordering by size would be guesswork. Where a company does not publish a figure, we have left the figure out and described what it does instead. Turnover and investment numbers that some of these companies publish are not reproduced here, because this guide carries no money figures of any kind.
Who makes hydraulic cylinders in India?
A cylinder is the steel tube and rod that actually moves your boom, arm, bucket or tipping body. Three Indian manufacturers matter here.
Hyva is the tipping cylinder specialist. Its About Hyva page states that the company holds more than 40% global market share in front-end tipping cylinders and runs 12 production facilities across China, India, Brazil and Europe. A front-end tipping cylinder is the single telescopic ram that sits behind the cab of a tipper and lifts the whole body.
Veljan trades as Veljan Hydrair Limited and its About Us page gives 1965 as its founding year, with manufacturing plants in and near Hyderabad. Its published catalogue lists cylinders in HT, HR, HH and HG series plus special builds, which it makes alongside pumps, filters, power packs and manifolds.
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, part of Wipro Enterprises, has the longest cylinder record of the three. Its own milestones page dates the first hydraulic cylinder plant at Peenya in Bengaluru to 1976, a second plant at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh to 1995, a Chennai plant to 2006 and a dedicated cylinder rod plant at Hindupur to 2013. The same page says the business runs more than 45 manufacturing facilities across four continents.
If you want to understand the part itself rather than the companies, our guide to the hydraulic cylinder on a backhoe loader and excavator covers seal kits, bore sizes and what goes wrong.
Who makes the hydraulic pumps?
The pump is the heart of the system. It takes engine power and turns it into oil flow. Four names cover most of what is built in India.
Dynamatic Technologies describes itself on its hydraulics page as the world’s leading producer of hydraulic gear pumps, and says it produces more than 15,00,000 (1.5 million) gear pumps a year across its global facilities. The same page lists its Indian plants at Bengaluru and Coimbatore, with further facilities in the United Kingdom and Germany. Its range covers gear pumps in cast iron and aluminium, axial piston pumps, control valves and power packs, and it names agriculture, construction and industrial equipment as the markets it builds for.
Polyhydron works out of Machhe Industrial Estate in Belagavi, Karnataka. Its product list is narrower and more specialised than the others: hydraulic radial piston pumps and hand pumps, which it sells alongside its valve range.
Veljan publishes a wide pump catalogue covering single, double and triple gear pumps, bearing pumps, truck pumps and rig pumps, plus a J9V series of piston pumps in seven displacement sizes.
Yuken India was incorporated in 1976 under a collaboration agreement with Yuken Kogyo Company of Japan, which its About Us page still names as its principal. The page gives a head office and main factory at Whitefield Road in Bengaluru, seven plants across India, and 56 distributors. Of the seven plants, three are in Bengaluru and one each at Malur, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. Yuken is the clearest case on this page of a supplier that splits its catalogue by machine type: it lists a separate product line for construction machinery and industrial vehicles covering hydraulic vane pumps, gear pumps, hydraulic motors and mobile control valves.
Pump output is what decides how fast your machine works. Our guide to excavator hydraulic pressure and pump flow explains bar, MPa and litres per minute by machine class.
Who makes the control valves?
Valves are the part buyers think about least and depend on most. The main control valve takes the pump’s oil and splits it between boom, arm, bucket and travel.
Polyhydron has the deepest published valve list of any company here. Its site names mobile hydraulic valves, directional control valves, solenoid valves, pressure controls, manifolds, covers, logic cartridges, pressure switches and check valves. Mobile hydraulic valves are the ones built for machines that move, as opposed to valves for a fixed factory press.
Veljan Denison is Veljan’s group company and makes pumps, motors, valves and custom-built power systems and manifold blocks. Veljan’s own site sets out the history plainly: the company was set up in 1974 as Denison Hydraulics India Limited under a collaboration with the Denison division of Abex Corporation of the USA, passed to Hagglunds when it acquired Denison, went independent in 1994 and was renamed Veljan Denison Limited in 2010.
Yuken India lists directional, pressure, flow, modular, logic, proportional and servo valves on the industrial side, and mobile control valves on the construction machinery side.
Bosch Rexroth runs an India operation and its India site is live, but we could not open a plant or locations page for it from our server, so it is listed here without the detail the others carry. FETCH: Bosch Rexroth India manufacturing locations and off-highway product line, from its own site.
For how the valve works on your own machine, see our guide to the excavator main control valve.
Who makes hydraulic hoses in India?
Polyhose is the clearest Indian answer. Its website describes the company as an Indian-based multinational focused on the design, development, manufacturing and distribution of energy conveyance products, which is the trade term for hoses, tubes and the fittings that join them. Its head office is at Mount Road, Guindy, in Chennai. The published product list runs to performance elastomer hose, performance polymer hose, ultra high pressure hose, advanced polymer hose, stainless steel flexible hoses, composite hoses and fluid connectors. The quality page lists ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 among its certifications, and IATF 16949 is the automotive quality standard that most vehicle and machine builders require of a supplier before it can quote.
Gates is the other name buyers will recognise on a hose crimp in India, but its website blocked our server, so we have not described it from a second-hand source. FETCH: Gates India manufacturing locations and hydraulic hose range, from gates.com.
Hose is also the part most likely to fail on a working machine. Our guide to hydraulic hose sizes, pressure ratings and fittings covers how to read the markings on the one you are replacing.

Which states have the hydraulic plants?
Read the table column by column and the geography is hard to miss. The fluid power industry in India grew up around Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and it has stayed there.
Karnataka has the most plants of any state on this page: Wipro at Peenya, Dynamatic at Bengaluru, Yuken at Whitefield and Malur, and Polyhydron at Belagavi. Telangana carries Veljan and Veljan Denison around Hyderabad, plus a Yuken plant. Tamil Nadu has Wipro’s Chennai cylinder plant, Dynamatic at Coimbatore and Polyhose at Chennai. Andhra Pradesh has Wipro’s Hindupur cylinder and rod plants. Maharashtra and Delhi each carry a Yuken plant.
This matters more than it looks. A supplier with a plant in your state is usually quicker to answer a warranty question and quicker to send a replacement, and a dealer in a southern state will often have shorter lead times on a hydraulic part than one in the north or east.
How does a supplier get on a machine maker’s vendor list?
This is the question we get from small engineering firms rather than from machine owners, and the companies above answer part of it themselves through what they publish.
The first gate is a quality certification. Polyhose lists ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016, and IATF 16949 is the standard most vehicle and machine builders ask a component supplier to hold before they will take a quotation seriously. The second gate is capacity you can prove, which is why these companies publish plant counts and annual production volumes at all: a machine builder planning a production line needs to know the supplier can hold the rate.
The third is the paperwork route itself, and several of these companies run it through their own websites. Yuken India operates a vendor login on its site alongside dealer and customer portals. Hyva publishes a suppliers section. If you are trying to sell into one of them, that portal is the front door, not a phone call.
If you are looking for work rather than for a vendor registration, our opportunities section carries live tenders and requirements from across the industry.
What this means when your machine needs a hydraulic part
Knowing who builds the component changes the questions you ask. A cylinder on an Indian-assembled machine is often an Indian-built cylinder, which means a rebuild and a seal kit are usually a local conversation rather than an import one. The same goes for a gear pump or a mobile control valve.
Ask your dealer which supplier’s part is fitted and what the part number is before you order anything. On a backhoe loader such as the JCB 3DX or an excavator such as the Tata Hitachi EX 210 Infra, that number is what decides whether a replacement arrives in two days or two weeks.
Keeping the oil clean is what decides how long any of these parts last, whoever built them. Our guides to hydraulic system maintenance and the backhoe loader filter kit cover the service side, and the excavator parts guide and backhoe loader parts guide set out what sits where on each machine.
Browse the machines these components go into on our excavator, backhoe loader, wheel loader and crane pages, and see where they work on our mining equipment and road construction equipment guides. If you would rather hire than buy while a machine is down, our rental section lists what is available.
