As of October 2026, the hydraulic pump manufacturers in India large enough to supply machine builders directly are Dynamatic Technologies, Polyhydron, Veljan and Yuken India, with Bosch Rexroth running an India operation alongside them. Cylinders come from Hyva, Veljan and Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, and hoses from Polyhose. Every figure below is the company’s own, read on its own website this month, and the list is alphabetical rather than a ranking.

How this list was built, and what it is not

A company earned a place here by doing three things: manufacturing in India, publishing on its own website what it makes and where, and building components that go into construction, mining or off-highway machines rather than only factory equipment.

Nobody publishes an audited table of who supplies the most hydraulic parts in India. So this is not a ranking, and the order within each section is alphabetical. Where a company does not publish a number, the number is left out rather than estimated. Production volumes, plant counts and market-share claims below are what each company says about itself, and companies revise those figures without announcing it — check the source page before you quote any of them.

This piece carries no prices. Component pricing depends on the drawing and the order quantity, so a figure published here would mislead more than it helped.

Hydraulic pump manufacturers in India

Bosch Rexroth India presents hydraulics, electric drives, linear motion and assembly technology on its India site, with a separate line of solutions for mobile machines, which is the off-highway side relevant to construction equipment. It publishes no Indian plant list on the pages we were able to open, so it is named here without the location detail the others carry.

Dynamatic Technologies describes itself on its hydraulics page as the world’s leading producer of hydraulic gear pumps, manufacturing in India and the United Kingdom. The same page states more than 15,00,000 gear pumps produced annually, over 1,200 custom hydraulic solutions delivered and more than fifty years in hydraulics, and it names agriculture, construction equipment, material handling and industrial automation as the markets it builds for. Its Indian plants are at Bengaluru and Coimbatore, and its range runs from gear pumps and axial piston pumps through control valves and steering systems to complete power packs. On the farm side it claims roughly 35% of the global market for factory-installed hydraulic pumps.

Polyhydron works out of Machhe Industrial Estate in Belagavi, Karnataka. Its published range is narrower and more specialised than the others: hydraulic radial piston pumps and hand pumps, sold alongside mobile hydraulic valves, directional control valves, solenoid valves, pressure controls, manifolds, covers, logic cartridges, pressure switches and check valves. Radial piston pumps suit high pressure at modest flow, which is a different job from the gear pumps that run most loader circuits.

Veljan trades as Veljan Hydrair Limited and dates itself to 1965, with manufacturing plants in and near Hyderabad. Its pump catalogue covers single, double and triple gear pumps, bearing pumps, truck pumps and rig pumps, plus a J9V piston pump series in seven displacement sizes from J9V009 to J9V135. Its group company Veljan Denison Limited makes pumps, motors, valves and custom-built power systems and manifold blocks. Veljan’s own account of that company is unusually plain: it was set up in 1974 as Denison Hydraulics India Limited under a collaboration with the Denison division of Abex Corporation of the USA, passed to Hagglunds of Sweden when Hagglunds acquired Denison, went its own way when Hagglunds divested in 1994, and was renamed Veljan Denison Limited in 2010.

Yuken India was incorporated in 1976 under a collaboration agreement with Yuken Kogyo Company Ltd of Japan, which its About Us page still names as its principal. That page gives a head office and main factory on Whitefield Road in Bengaluru, seven plants across India and 56 distributors. Three of the seven plants are in Bengaluru, with one each at Malur, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi, and commercial production dates from 1978. Yuken is the clearest case on this page of a supplier that splits its catalogue by machine type: it lists a separate product line for construction machinery and industrial vehicles covering hydraulic vane pumps, gear pumps, hydraulic motors and mobile control valves, against an industrial line that adds piston pumps and directional, pressure, flow, modular, logic, proportional and servo valves. One caution on sourcing from that page: it carries a 2013 copyright line and some of its company statistics are visibly old, so treat the employee and turnover figures on it as historic.

Who makes the hydraulic cylinders

Hyva is the tipping cylinder specialist. Its About page states more than 40% global market share in front-end tipping cylinders, over 20,000 customers, operations in more than 110 countries and a manufacturing base of 14 production facilities across Brazil, China, Germany, India, Italy and Mexico. A front-end tipping cylinder is the single telescopic ram that sits behind a tipper’s cab and lifts the whole body; Hyva also lists double-acting cylinders, truck cranes, hookloaders and skiploaders.

Veljan lists cylinders in HT, HR, HH and HG series plus special builds, made in the same Hyderabad-area plants as its pumps.

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, part of Wipro Enterprises, has the longest published cylinder record of the three. Its About Us page dates the first hydraulic cylinder plant at Peenya in Bengaluru to 1976, a second at Hindupur to 1995, a Chennai plant to 2006 and a dedicated cylinder rod plant at Hindupur to 2013. The most recent Indian addition is its first hydraulics facility in northern India, at Jaipur in Rajasthan, dated 2023. The same page puts the wider business at 40 manufacturing facilities across four continents and a presence in 33 countries, and its milestones record a 2011 joint venture with Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan alongside cylinder acquisitions in Sweden, Brazil, Romania and the United States.

Who makes the hydraulic hoses

Polyhose is the clearest Indian answer on hose. Its company page gives Chennai as its headquarters, dates the fluid conveyance division to 1996 and puts worldwide employment above 6,000 with an annual capacity of 150 million metres. The published range covers rubber hydraulic hose, thermoplastic and PTFE hose, ultra-high-pressure hose, composite hose, stainless steel flexible hose and the fluid connectors that join them.

What makes Polyhose checkable is its certificates page, which lists the approvals behind the product rather than just naming them. Its quality systems are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016, the automotive quality standard most vehicle and machine builders require of a component supplier before it can quote. Its wire-braided and wire-spiral hose families carry DNV type approvals against SAE J517, EN 853, EN 856 and EN 857, which are the same hose specifications printed on the cover of the line you would be replacing.

Gates is the other name a buyer will recognise on a hose crimp in India, but its website blocks our server and the domain trading as gatesindia.com is a parked listing rather than the company, so we have not described it from a second-hand source.

What this means when you need a part

Notice that no company above makes all four parts. That is why a machine assembled in India carries hydraulic components from four or five suppliers, and why the badge on the machine tells you very little about who built the pump inside it.

It also explains the part number. A standard pump or valve is a catalogue item a builder picks from a supplier’s range, but most cylinders are made to the machine builder’s own drawing and carry the builder’s number, not the component maker’s. So a cylinder for a backhoe loader such as the JCB 3DX is ordered by that number, and the practical consequence is a good one for owners: an Indian-built cylinder on an Indian-assembled machine makes a reseal or a replacement a local conversation rather than an import one.

If you want the engineering rather than the companies, our guide to hydraulic cylinder, pump and hose specifications and fitment covers bore, stroke, flow, pressure ratings and what has to match on a replacement. If you are trying to sell into one of these companies instead of buying from them, their own vendor portals are the front door, and live industry requirements are listed under tenders and opportunities.

The bottom line

India’s hydraulic component industry is real, it is concentrated around Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, and it is specialised: pumps from one group of companies, cylinders from another, hose from a third. For an owner, the useful takeaway is that the parts on your machine were probably built within the country, so ask your dealer which supplier’s part is fitted and what its number is before you order anything.

Browse the full range of excavators and backhoe loaders these components are built into, or raise a spare parts enquiry if you already know the part you need.
