The package covers two vehicular underpasses (VUPs) and two light vehicular underpasses (LVUPs) at locations NHAI has marked as blackspots on NH-55 between Angul and Sambalpur. It comes from the NHAI Regional Office in Bhubaneswar under reference NHAI/13012/255/RO/OD/2038/2026 as an EPC contract.

Underpasses on a running four-lane road mean diversions first, then excavation, box or girder structures, and ramps on both sides. Traffic on this corridor is heavy with coal and steel trucks, so the diversion plan will cost real money.
