NHAI is building a road over bridge at Alluru Road on the Chilakaluripet to Nellore stretch of NH-16, and the Alluru Road ROB tender closes at 11:00 AM on 12 November 2026.
One structure, 550 days
The ROB goes in at km 1341.950 on the right hand side of the Chilakaluripet to Nellore section of NH-16, which runs from km 1182.802 to km 1366.547. A road over bridge takes the road across a railway line so that traffic and trains stop sharing a level crossing. The portal gives 550 days, nearly a year and a half, which is normal once railway working hours and traffic blocks enter the programme.
Reference NHAI/Tech/AP/NH-16, issued by Regional Office Vijayawada on EPC mode.
Railway interface is the real risk
On paper this is ₹30,89,00,000 of bridge work with a ₹31,00,000 EMD and a ₹10,000 fee. In practice the span over the tracks can only be built in short blocks granted by the railway, often at night, and the rest of the time your crew works on approaches and retaining structures. Bidders who have done an ROB before price that waiting time properly, and the ones who have not usually do not.
Most of the volume is in the approaches. Expect excavators and tippers on embankment fill, a motor grader and heavy compactors building layers to a tight specification behind the retaining walls, and transit mixers feeding the deck and crash barriers. The span itself needs a crane sized for the girder and the headroom available beside the tracks. Keep a backhoe loader for drainage and service diversions.
