A level crossing at km 85.033 on NH-353I makes way for a road over bridge, and the balance two-lane upgrade work on the realigned stretches near Seldoh in Wardha district goes with it, in a ₹149.57 crore package whose Seldoh Pavnar tender closes at 5:00 PM on 8 December 2026.
What is left to finish on NH-353I
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is tendering the balance works for upgrading the Seldoh to Pavnar section of NH-353I to a two-lane with paved shoulders configuration in the realigned stretches, together with a road over bridge in place of level crossing LC 94.A at km 85.033. The notice comes from RO Mumbai under P6 Delhi, reference RW/NH-12014/ 53/2026-MAH/ZONE-WEST, and the portal gives 540 days on an EPC contract.
Balance work is a particular kind of job. Somebody has already done the easy part, the alignment is fixed, and what remains is usually the stretches that held the first contract up. Read the bill of quantities closely before you price it, because the realigned portions are where the earthwork and the land handover sit.
The structure is the real work
Replacing a level crossing on a working rail line means a construction window the railway controls, not one you set. Girder launching happens in blocks of a few hours, piling has to clear the track zone, and approach embankments go up while trains keep running. Bidders who have built a road over bridge before will price that risk properly; bidders who have not tend to miss it.
The deposit is ₹1,50,00,000 against an estimate of ₹149,57,00,000, so right on 1 per cent, and exemption is not allowed. Tender fee is ₹20,000. The notice went up on 24 October 2026 and bids open at 11:00 AM on 10 December. Vidarbha contractors have other options open as well, including the Parali road over bridge tender on NH-361H and NHAI work on the NH-353C widening in Gadchiroli. The Hingoli NH-461B tender carries a bridge and an ROB too.
Two fleets on one site
The road portion runs on the usual set: excavators and tippers for the realigned embankments, a motor grader and compactors for the layers, and a wheel loader at the plant. The bridge portion needs a piling rig, a crane with enough reach for girder work over the track, and steady supply from transit mixers. A backhoe loader earns its keep on diversions and side drains, which is where most of the daily work happens on a live highway. Wardha and Nagpur fleet owners can mobilise in a day.
