A new four lane bypass around Jaunpur goes out to hybrid annuity bidders at Rs 980.70 crore, and the Jaunpur bypass tender closes at 03:00 PM on 30 November 2026.
Package I of the Jaunpur Akbarpur stretch
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways wants a four lane bypass built from km 80.220 to km 107.780 of NH-135A, which the notice describes as Package I of the Jaunpur to Akbarpur section. That is 27.56 km of new carriageway, taken on hybrid annuity mode by the regional office at Lucknow under reference CE-RO/LKO/NH-135A/Pkg-I.
Greenfield bypasses are a different animal from widening. There is no live traffic to work around on most of the length, but there is also no existing formation to build on, so the embankment, the structures and the approach roads all start from a field.
What hybrid annuity means for your cash flow
On HAM the concessionaire funds a share of construction and is paid back in annuities once the road is complete, so a lender has to be lined up before the bid, not after. The deposit is Rs 9,81,00,000 against a tender fee of Rs 1,00,000, and exemption is not allowed. The portal records the form of contract as lump-sum and gives 1,095 days.
A 27 km greenfield alignment in the Ganga plain is mostly fill. Expect a long run of excavators and tippers feeding the embankment, motor graders and compactors building each layer, and wheel loaders on the crusher and hot mix plant. Culverts, minor bridges and the tie-ins at both ends need transit mixers and a crane. Over 1,095 days a fleet owner near Jaunpur, Azamgarh or Sultanpur can keep machines on hire without long moves. The road construction equipment guide sets out what each layer calls for.
