As of 8 November 2026, seven scaffolding manufacturers in India state on their own websites or annual reports that they make scaffolding or scaffold tube at an Indian plant: Allmarc Industries, APL Apollo Tubes, Hariom Pipe Industries, MSafe Equipments, Rama Steel Tubes, Sagar Asia and Translite Scaffolding. Between them they cover cuplock, ringlock, H-frames, aluminium mobile towers and 48.3 mm scaffold pipe. Do not expect an ISI licence for the scaffold itself: BIS showed none under IS 2750 on that date. The mark to insist on is on the tube, under IS 1161, with a wall thickness you have checked.
Ask a scaffolding maker for ISI-marked scaffolding and you are asking for a mark nobody is licensed to put on it. The Bureau of Indian Standards’ portal showed zero licences under IS 2750, the specification for steel scaffoldings, when we checked on 8 November 2026. The standard only says tubes, fittings and frames “may also be marked” with the ISI mark.
The mark that does exist is one step back, on the steel tube. IS 1161, the structural tube standard, is listed by BIS as under a quality control order, with 191 licences, and that is where your checks should start. How to run scaffolding as a hire business is in scaffolding business in India, and the site rules are in scaffolding safety norms in India.
How this list of scaffolding manufacturers in India was built
On 8 November 2026 we opened the websites of seventeen companies that come up when Indian buyers look for cuplock, ringlock, H-frame, aluminium tower or scaffold pipe makers. A company is listed only if its own site, or its own annual report, names an Indian plant or plant address and lists scaffolding products.
We dropped ten. Six Indian sellers gave only an office, no plant address, a holding page or a marketplace catalogue, and one aluminium brand’s Indian site now redirects abroad. Three foreign brands showed only an office or stock yard in India. The list is alphabetical, not a ranking, and many smaller fabricators are not on it.

What each maker says it makes
Allmarc Industries
Allmarc was founded in 2010 in Ahmedabad and manufactures at Kanbha, where it added a dedicated 75,000 sq ft formwork and scaffolding facility in 2023. Its cuplock verticals are 60 mm round pipe, 3.2 mm thick, in YST 310 steel, with cups every 500 mm and 48 mm ledgers 3 mm thick. Its ringlock range, Allstage, uses 48.3 mm verticals.
APL Apollo Tubes
APL Apollo started in 1986 at Sikandrabad, Ghaziabad, and its site lists plants at Hosur, Malur, Murbad and Raipur among others. Its tube brochure lists scaffold tubes to EN 39 in 3.2 and 4.0 mm walls, hot-dip galvanised with at least 45 microns outside, plus cuplock, wedgelock and couplers. It does not say which plant makes them.
Hariom Pipe Industries
Hariom’s 2025-26 annual report says it set up its scaffolding unit in 2011 and has 5,000 tonnes a year of scaffolding capacity, made at Unit I, Mahabubnagar, Telangana. Its cuplock verticals and ledgers use NB 40 mm “B” class pipe with malleable cast iron cups. Its H-frames use NB 40 mm uprights with NB 20 mm ladder members.
MSafe Equipments
MSafe, BSE-listed and working since 2019, names four plants at Kasna, Greater Noida: aluminium scaffolding (50,000 units a year), ladders, steel scaffolding (30,000 tonnes a year) and formwork. It sells aluminium stairway, narrow and Z-type towers, and steel standards, ledgers, planks and jacks in hot-dip galvanised or self-colour finish.
Rama Steel Tubes
Rama Steel Tubes set up its first unit in 1981 and runs a plant at Sahibabad, near Delhi, with another in Mumbai. Its scaffold tube is 48.3 mm outside diameter in 40 NB medium and heavy classes, quoted to IS 1161 and BS 1139, in 4.5 to 6 m lengths. It says a mill test certificate goes with each supply.
Sagar Asia
Sagar Asia makes aluminium access equipment and describes its own extrusion plant and an assembly plant; its address is at Kallakal village, Manoharabad mandal, Medak district, Telangana. Its mobile towers go up to 12 m working height on swivel castors, with platforms of at least 0.75 m by 1.80 m.
Translite Scaffolding
Translite names plants on the Hapur-Pilkhuwa road in Uttar Pradesh and at Dehgam, Gandhinagar, with an office in Noida. Its cuplock verticals run from 500 to 3,000 mm with cups at 500 mm, and ledgers from 500 to 2,000 mm with forged blades. It also lists ringlock and staircase towers, and hires scaffolding out.
Is there an ISI mark for scaffolding?
Not on the finished scaffold, since the BIS portal showed no IS 2750 licence on 8 November 2026. On the tube, yes. IS 1161:2014 requires each tube to be marked with the maker’s name or trade mark and the steel grade, and the BIS portal lists it under a quality control order. So the practical checks are these:
- The tube maker’s name and grade on the tube, and the ISI mark with its licence number.
- A mill test certificate that matches the batch delivered.
- The scaffold maker’s name or trade mark on tubes, fittings and frames, which IS 2750 clause 9.1 requires.
- The supplier’s certificate and design load particulars under IS 2750 clauses 6.1 and 6.2.
Some sellers describe their scaffolding as “IS 2750 certified”. With no licence on the BIS page for IS 2750, ask what the certificate is: a test report, a self-declaration or a third-party inspection. Each is useful, but it is not an ISI licence.
Tube size and thickness: the check that catches thin stock
IS 2750 asks for 40 mm nominal bore heavy class tube and quotes its section: 5.57 sq cm of steel. In the current tube standard that is the 48.3 mm by 4.0 mm tube. The same table lists thinner walls at the same outside diameter, so two tubes can look identical on site.
| 40 NB tube, 48.3 mm OD | Mass per metre | Steel area | A 6 m tube weighs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4.0 mm wall (matches IS 2750) | 4.37 kg | 5.57 sq cm | about 26.2 kg |
| 3.2 mm wall | 3.56 kg | 4.53 sq cm | about 21.4 kg |
| 2.9 mm wall | 3.25 kg | 4.14 sq cm | about 19.5 kg |
Source: Table 1 of IS 1161:2014; the 6 m weights are worked from it. A 3.2 mm tube carries about 19 per cent less steel than the 4.0 mm one. That is a fair choice for a system ledger designed around it, but not a substitute for tube-and-coupler work designed for the heavier tube. Weigh a few tubes from each lot on a platform scale; it takes minutes and settles the argument.
System scaffolds use their own sizes, as Allmarc’s 60 mm cuplock verticals show, so for cuplock and ringlock get the maker’s load tables in writing.
Galvanised or painted?
IS 2750 allows both: tubes and frames that are not galvanised must be painted or varnished. IS 4014 Part 1 warns that corrosion can be high in industrial and coastal areas and lists hot-dip galvanising among the remedies. Galvanised stock goes out again without repainting; painted stock rusts where the paint chips, so budget yard time to touch it up between hires. If you order galvanised tube, IS 1161 sends the zinc coating to IS 4736, so name that standard in the order.
When to buy scaffolding instead of renting it
Buy when you have steady work for the same system: a contractor with back-to-back towers, or a hire firm with customers waiting. Rent when the job is a one-off, needs a system you do not own, or would leave stock idle in your yard. The cost heads behind that choice are set out in the scaffolding hire business guide, so get local hire and purchase quotes and run them through it.
Buying also means moving bundles. A telehandler such as the Manitou MXT 840 K, rated 4,000 kg with a 7.6 m lift height, or the SANY STH844A, rated 3,629 kg to 13.4 m, lifts bundles to working levels without a crane. The wider kit for tall buildings is in the high-rise building equipment guide. If you are buying for a contract, live building and infrastructure work is posted on the tenders and opportunities board.
Company details are taken from each maker’s own website or annual report as read on 8 November 2026; standards details from the BIS standards portal and the texts of IS 2750:1964, IS 1161:2014 and IS 4014 (Part 1):1967. The list is alphabetical and not a ranking. Specifications, standards and product ranges change — confirm current terms with the maker, dealer or BIS before you buy.
