Gainwell Group’s equipment arm, InfraServe Global, used bauma CONEXPO India to launch five machines in a single day. Four of them are not for building roads. They are for keeping roads alive, which tells an India equipment buyer more about where the work is heading than any excavator on the same show floor.

What InfraServe Global launched
Construction World and Autocar Professional both carried the launch on 16 September, off one company release. Construction World has the engineering detail: the RoadSaver runs a CAN-Bus system that watches aggregate, water and additive delivery and halts the batch if it drifts outside spec; the Black-Topper Centennial regulates binder output against ground-speed radar and adds a hydraulically variable spray bar and the Vacu-Flo and Smart Clean systems; the pumps use a reworked S-valve geometry and reverse-pump to clear a choke without stripping the line. Autocar carries chief executive Magesh Swaminathan’s line that five launches in one day is a statement of intent, and the point that every unit is engineered and made in India. Treat all of it as company-stated. Neither desk published a concrete pressure rating, nor said whether the 50 and 70 are theoretical output per hour.
What it means for buyers
Read the product mix, not the launch count. A slurry sealer, a bitumen distributor and a mastic kettle are maintenance plant. They earn on roads that were built years ago and are now under a resurfacing or upkeep contract. That is a different customer from the one buying a motor grader and a soil compactor for a greenfield alignment, and it is a customer who bills by area covered rather than by cubic metre moved.
On a surface dressing job the bitumen is the expensive line, not the diesel. So a dosing claim of 1 per cent accuracy is a materials-cost argument dressed as a spec. If a distributor sprays heavy across a season, the waste shows up in the binder bill long before it shows in productivity. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the radar dosing on your own truck speed range, and get the calibration interval in writing.
The pumps need a harder question. An output figure alone is half a spec; pressure decides how high the mix actually goes, which is why our own guide on concrete pump output and pressure treats the pair together. Neither desk gave a pressure number here, so nobody can yet bench these against a transit mixer fleet or a competing pump. The reverse-pumping claim is worth testing, though, because clearing a blocked line by hand is the cost nobody budgets for.
Our take: the real risk on any new nameplate is parts, and ISG’s own operations director led on dealer training and spares rather than on the machines. That is the right instinct and it is also the thing to hold them to. Gainwell already runs a service network as Caterpillar’s India dealer house, which is a genuine head start, but a network built around excavators is not automatically stocked for a slurry sealer’s pumps and metering gear.

- Prices and first delivery dates, which were not disclosed at the show for any of the five.
- A published pressure rating and duty class for the 50 and 70 pumps before anyone compares them on output alone.
- Whether road-maintenance tenders in your state actually specify computer-controlled dosing, since that is what makes this kit pay back rather than a cheaper manual rig.
