JCB bauma CONEXPO India 2026: 10 New Machines Launched

JCB India put ten new machines on its stand at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 in Greater Noida, and the three that matter most to Indian buyers are wearing the oldest badges on the pavilion. The 3DX, 3DX Plus and 3DX Super are not new nameplates. They are the volume backhoe loaders this market already runs on, and re-engineering them is a bigger event for a working fleet owner than any single new model at the show.

The quick facts

  • Ten launches drawn from a 21-machine stand of roughly 2,000 sq m at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, announced 15 September 2026.
  • Three are backhoe loaders (3DX, 3DX Plus and 3DX Super) on a JCB 430 engine rated at a company-stated 440 Nm.
  • The remaining seven span excavators (150 FM, 225 XT and the 18Z mini), a 475-5 wheel loader on a company-stated 320 hp Cummins engine with ZF Ergo II transmission, an A60E access platform, a G160QI CPCB IV genset and an AGRIMAX 4WD tractor.
  • No India prices were disclosed for any of the ten.

What JCB actually announced

NBM&CW and Autocar Professional both carried the launch, and they do not carry the same detail. NBM&CW names only the three backhoe loaders and quotes JCB India CEO and Managing Director Deepak Shetty saying India is building infrastructure at an unprecedented scale and speed. Autocar Professional is the desk that itemises all ten machines and the engine figures. Both agree on the count, the 2,000 sq m footprint and the 21 machines on display. Every specification here is company-stated; JCB has published no datasheet or price for the refreshed range yet.

Why does a 3DX refresh matter more than a new model?

Because the 3DX family is the single highest-volume machine class sold in India, and a nameplate refresh moves three things at once. Dealers carrying outgoing stock get a reason to discount it, which is the cheapest buying window of the year for anyone who does not need the new engine. Resale values on the current-spec 3DX face a step down as the new build reaches site, so if you were planning to trade in within twelve months, the sums have changed. And a new 430 engine means a service part set that may not be common with the ecoMAX units already in your yard — filters, belts and injectors are the question to put to your dealer before the order, not after.

The efficiency claim deserves a closer read. The 21 per cent fuel improvement JCB quotes for the backhoe range is stated as a gain built up over the past few years, not a step change delivered by these three machines. Treat it as a description of where the range has travelled, not as what a 2026 unit saves against a 2025 one. The more useful numbers are the per-model ones — a company-stated 8 per cent on the 150 FM and 5 per cent more work per dig cycle on the 225 XT.

Our take: this reads as a volume-defence launch rather than a technology launch. JCB is protecting the part of the market it already dominates, at a show where the 3DX Super’s direct rivals were also on the floor. That is good news for buyers in one specific way: competitive pressure on the backhoe segment usually shows up as finance terms and free service packages long before it shows up as a lower sticker price. Ask for both.

What to watch

  • Whether JCB publishes operating weights, dig depths and prices for the three backhoe variants, none of which were released at the show.
  • Dealer discounting on outgoing-spec 3DX stock through the festive quarter.
  • Whether the 430 engine shares filters and service intervals with the ecoMAX units already in the field.
