Rajasthan PHED has two AMRUT 2.0 urban water supply packages open at Ajmer and Nagaur worth ₹163.95 crore together, and the first half of the Ajmer Nagaur water supply pair closes at 6:00 PM on 28 October 2026.
Two towns, two notices, one regional office
The larger package is augmentation and rehabilitation of the urban water supply scheme for Ajmer, including five years of operation and maintenance after a one year defect liability period, under AMRUT 2.0. It is worth ₹1,31,07,47,000 over 730 days, reference ACE PHED Region Ajmer NIT No 06, and closes on 28 October.
The second is augmentation of the urban water supply scheme for Nagaur town under the same mission, worth ₹32,87,82,000 over 545 days, reference NIT No.11/2026-27 of ACE PHED Region Ajmer, closing at 6:00 PM on 5 November. Both come from the Additional Chief Engineer, PHED Region Ajmer, so the same office runs both contracts.
Operation and maintenance changes the maths
Six years of running the Ajmer network after you build it is the part that decides whether this is worth bidding. Leakage, pumping energy and staff sit on your account for that whole period, so the construction price alone will not tell you if the package pays.
Urban water work is a trenching job with a town on top of it. Most of the fleet time goes to backhoe loaders opening and closing trenches in lanes too narrow for anything bigger, with a excavator kept for the trunk mains and the treatment works. Reinstatement needs a small compactor behind every gang, because unsettled trenches are what the public complains about. Pump houses and reservoirs bring in mixers and a pick and carry crane for the pumps. Owners of two or three machines rather than a large fleet do well on this kind of package.
