NHAI has put a ₹394.92 crore package out to bid for upgrading 30 km of the Ghazipur, Zamania and Saiyad Raja corridor on NH-24 in Uttar Pradesh, and bids close on 22 September 2026.

What this Ghazipur Zamania tender covers

The package picks up the existing four-lane corridor at Km 71.000, where the Purvanchal Expressway ties in, and runs to Km 102.000 at the start of the Ghazipur to Zamania and Saiyad Raja section. Total design length is 30 km. NHAI has floated it as Package I on hybrid annuity mode, which means the winning firm builds the stretch and is paid partly during construction and partly through annuities once traffic runs.

This is upgradation work on a live corridor rather than a greenfield alignment. Expect carriageway strengthening, structures, junction improvement and service road work along a route that already carries eastern Uttar Pradesh traffic between the expressway and the Ghazipur side. Because the road stays open through construction, traffic management and staged working will shape the programme as much as the earthwork will.

Who should look at this one

At ₹394.92 crore this sits in the range that mid-size and large highway contractors bid for regularly. The earnest money is ₹3,95,00,000 and the tender document costs ₹40,000, both payable offline. Bid validity runs 120 days across a two-cover process.

Worth knowing before you commit: the deadline has already moved several times. Six corrigenda have been issued since the tender was published in January 2026, most of them extending the bid due date. Read the latest corrigendum on the portal before you price anything, because scope notes often travel with those date changes.

For an owner running a small fleet, the realistic route in is subcontracting a work package from the main bidder rather than bidding the whole 30 km. Structures, earthwork and service road lengths are usually parcelled out once the contract is awarded.

Machines this stretch will pull in

A 30 km four-lane upgradation on an operating highway needs a steady mix rather than one big fleet. Plan for excavators on drain and structure work, motor graders for subgrade and base layers, and soil and tandem compactors behind them. Paving trains, transit mixers and tippers will run through the bituminous stages, and a backhoe loader or two will handle the smaller cross-drainage and utility shifting that this kind of job throws up daily.

If the fleet maths is the hard part, our equipment finance guide walks through how contractors structure machine purchases against a signed work order.
