Delhi PWD is tendering Rs 25.31 crore of precast storm drains on both sides of Najafgarh Kakrola Road, from Sai Baba Mandir to the Mungeshpur outfall, and bids close on 21 September 2026.

The Kakrola Road drain tender in brief

South West Road Division-II of the Public Works Department, Delhi, is replacing the existing storm water drains along Najafgarh Kakrola Road (Road ID-1232) with precast drains. The work follows the new master drainage plan for Delhi, and it runs on both sides of the road for the full stretch between Sai Baba Mandir and the Mungeshpur outfall. It falls under sub-division SD-2 of the division.

The estimate is Rs 25.31 crore. Earnest money is Rs 35,30,862 and there is no tender fee. The tender is in two covers with a bid validity of 75 days, and bids are opened on the closing day.

How the work will run on site

Precast drain work on a busy arterial road is mostly a logistics job. Old drains have to be broken out and carted away, the trench re-cut to the new invert levels, and precast sections lifted in and jointed before the road edge is reinstated. Because the work is on both sides, you will be working next to live traffic for most of the contract, so traffic diversion and night working are worth pricing in from the start. The outfall end at Mungeshpur usually decides the sequence, since the new levels have to fall towards it.

Machines you will need

Plan for a small or mid-size excavator for trenching and demolition, a backhoe loader for cleanup and backfill, tippers to haul spoil, and a mobile crane or hydra to place precast sections. A plate compactor or small roller finishes the reinstated edge. Precast units will come from a casting yard, so check the transport route to site before you commit to a yard.

Before you bid

The portal lists the EMD payment mode as offline, so read the NIT for how and where the earnest money instrument has to reach the division before the deadline. Bids are opened at the office of the Executive Engineer SWR-II, under Dabri Flyover, Pankha Road. The document set is the NIT and a BOQ, so your rates go straight into the BOQ sheet.
